Lies of P pulled the curtain back on its Overture DLC during Sony's latest PlayStation State of Play event. In 2023, Neowiz and Round8 Studio released Soulslike Lies of P to mostly positive reviews. The unique Soulslike embraced a dystopian fairytale theme, putting players in the shoes of Geppetto's Puppet Pinocchio as he faces off with all kinds of mechanical and organic horrors in the city of Krat. Lies of P was an instant success, and so it didn't take long for DLC to be announced for the game.

The initial tease for the Lies of P DLC showed Pinocchio on a boat, though was otherwise light on details on what fans could expect. It's been nearly two years since the base game launched, but Lies of P fans have now gotten their best look at the Overture DLC to date.

A brand-new trailer for the Lies of P: Overture DLC was revealed during the PlayStation State of Play event. It's been confirmed that the DLC will launch at some point in the summer of 2025 and will show players what happened at the beginning of the Puppet Frenzy, the devastating event that destroyed the city of Krat. Players will be traveling back in time, unraveling mysteries tied to Lies of P's past and future, all the while exploring new locations and facing off against challenging new bosses. A new character, the "Legendary Stalker" known as Lea, will be the driving force behind the DLC's story.

Lies of P's impressive arsenal of weapons earned near-universal praise from fans, and so they will be happy to know that the DLC includes the ability to craft new weapons, utilize a new combat style, and equip powerful new Legion Arms. The takeaway is that the new Lies of P DLC is going to give players more of what they loved about the base game, so hopefully, release date and pricing information will come sooner rather than later. All we know for sure right now is that the DLC is looking to launch at some point this summer.

The Lies of P DLC is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the future of the franchise. Those that have completed the game will know that Lies of P's ending sets up a sequel with very exciting implications. One has to wonder if the DLC will include more teases for the sequel, or if fans will have to wait a while to see what the follow-up has in store.
