Lethal Company is a terrifying survival-horror video game, complete with dangerous monsters, hazardous traps, and bottomless shadows. Even the mere echo of footsteps keeps players on edge as they explore the desolate corridors of the abandoned facilities in search of scrap. As if this wasn’t nerve-wracking enough, some horror enthusiasts have created insane mods to make the game even scarier.
Created by jaspercreations, the Scopophobia mod adds an extra layer of horror to the game by introducing the iconic SCP 096, otherwise known as The Shy Guy from SCP - Containment Breach. This guide can help players learn how to install the Scopophobia mod and raise the fear factor in Lethal Company.
How to Install the Scopophobia Mod
The Scopophobia mod by jaspercreations is free to download directly from the Thunderstore website. Players can install it manually or use the Thunderstore Mod Manager. The Scopophobia mod requires the following mod packs to function properly:
- BepInEx-BepInExPack
- Evaisa-LethalLib
Both of these mods are available on the Scopophobia Thunderstore page. It’s recommended that players create a backup of the game so they can always revert to changes in case something doesn’t go according to plan.
Once players have downloaded the Scopophobia mod along with its necessary mod packs, they simply need to extract the zip files and transfer them into the folder containing the Lethal Compan y game files. To do this easily, follow the instructions below:
- Open the Steam Library
- Find Lethal Company and right-click on it
- Select Properties
- Click on Installed Files and select Browse
- Next, simply paste the extracted zip files
If they’ve followed the steps correctly, players will be able to see “MOD” in the bottom-left corner of the main menu screen when they launch the game.
How to Add The Shy Guy
When players launch Lethal Company after installing the Scopophobia mod, they’ll see that the Shy Guy will be added to the base game. Scopophobia literally means the fear of being watched. As the name implies, the Shy Guy absolutely hates it whenever someone stares at it.
Every time someone stares at SCP-096’s face, it enters into a stage of considerable emotional distress. The Shy Guy will start covering its face with its inhumanely long arms and start screaming and crying. This emotional outburst lasts for one to two minutes, after which SCP-096 will become extremely lethal.
Similar to Jester, SCP-096 starts chasing down the person who dares to look at him. No matter what stands in his way, The Shy Guy won’t stop till it has had its revenge.
