Last year, it was confirmed that Traveller's Tales would be returning to the series that started its LEGO video game success with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Fans have been waiting patiently for more information on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and while more concrete details are still unavailable at the time of this writing, the game's release date may have been leaked.

The official Star Wars YouTube channel recently posted a video that served as a round-up of all of the Star Wars Day news from May 4. According to the video, the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga release date is October 20, 2020. However, with no formal announcement about the release date, it seems as though this video spilled the beans a little early. The fact that the video has since been removed from YouTube is further proof of this.

After all, if a LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga release date was set to be announced, one would imagine that it would happen during the Star Wars Day celebrations. Instead of a release date, Warner Bros. Interactive revealed the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga box art, which looks great, but is much less exciting for fans.

It's possible that the October 20 date is the current plan for the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga release date, but that Warner Bros. Isn't completely confident that the game will be able to release then. Perhaps the company is anticipating development delays due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and so it's hesitant to announce the release date just in case the game ends up getting pushed back.

However, that's just speculation at this time. It's just as possible that October 20 is indeed the set in stone LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga release date, but that Warner Bros. Is just wanting to make the official announcement at a later date. There were rumors that Warner Bros. Was going to have an E3 2020 press conference this year, so maybe the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga release date announcement was going to be made at that event. If so, it's possible the announcement is being saved for a Summer Game Fest reveal instead.

Whatever the case may be, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is set to feature the Star Wars sequel trilogy for the first time in LEGO Star Wars history, alongside the original trilogy and prequels. It's said to have over 500 playable characters, making it one of the most massive LEGO games to date, and so hopefully it lives up to expectations.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is rumored to be launching on October 20 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
