The end of the year is always a good time to be a LEGO fan and collector, as the brick-building company typically runs some sales, gives away exclusive holiday-themed kits, and is about to release a plethora of new sets with the new year. This is also the case right now, with LEGO releasing a Stranger Things set on January 1, 2026, after the Season 5 finale on December 31, for example, which also features a nice giveaway set attached to it. However, the end of the year can be bittersweet for some fans, as it's when several past sets are retired, never to be produced again.
LEGO sets being retired is quite sad, as it means that fans will no longer be able to get those kits from the official website and third-party retailers, but only as collectors' items from other fans online. This typically comes with a much larger pricetag, as retired sets can't be obtained by any other means, increasing the value for those who still have sealed boxes. Now, a whopping 23 LEGO sets dedicated to Star Wars are leaving very soon, but only 5 of them are still purchasable before they're gone for good - and you need to be fast if you want them.

You Only Have Until January 1 2026 to Get These LEGO Sets
What follows is that you can now only get some of the sets - five, to be exact. These are the Ambush on Mandalore Battle Pack, Creative Play Droid Builder, Droideka, Ghost & Phantom 2, and X-Wing Starfighter. None of these sets is currently on sale, but considering that they are the last remaining units, it's likely that they will be sold out on LEGO's official website and most retailers within a week.
If sets like The Razor Crest sold out at $599, supplies for the remaining kits are probably ending soon. Star Wars' X-Wing Starfighter is quite popular among fans, and despite being the priciest remaining unit, it's very likely to disappear from online stores first. Considering that some of LEGO's holiday sets are being reserved as gifts, such as the Celebration Series: Gingerbread Train Ornament, now is the best time to get these Star Wars kits before they're out of the market.
Celebration Series: Gingerbread Train Ornament is currently free with purchases of $75+. This is only available until the end of the day today, December 16, 2025, and a new gift will appear on the LEGO website tomorrow.
Star Wars: Galactic Racers Comes at the Worst Possible Time for LEGO Fans
Since The Game Awards 2025 revealed a new Star Wars racing game called Star Wars: Galactic Racers, it may be disappointing to see a set like Mos Espa Podrace Diorama being sold out already. However, the selection of 2026 LEGO sets is kind to Star Wars once again, and fans will get to see more Podracing love. For now, though, a Sebulba and Anakin-themed set is already biting the dust of Tatooine.
