Fortnite continues to evolve with each major update, with Battle Royale cycling through various seasons that regularly shake up the gameplay. Alongside the core modes, its side experiences, like LEGO Fortnite, also receive frequent content updates and attention, with a recent crossover sparking the emergence of a whole mode dedicated to it.
LEGO Fortnite now offers a variety of experiences for players to enjoy, including the main LEGO Fortnite Odyssey mode, LEGO Fortnite Brick Life, and a collection of creative maps. With Fortnite’s major Star Wars season underway, however, yet another mode has also made its debut, offering its own unique twist. Here’s everything there is to know about the LEGO Fortnite Rapid Survival mode.

What Is LEGO Fortnite Rapid Survival?
Rules & How To Play
LEGO Fortnite Rapid Survival is a multiplayer twist to the traditional LEGO Fortnite Odyssey experience, set on a miniature Star Wars island. In this mode, players can matchmake with up to seven others and are dropped onto an island where they have the freedom to do whatever they want.
The mode plays similarly to LEGO Fortnite Odyssey for the most part, featuring the ability to craft nearly everything from the standard mode—but this time players are given a starting loadout with a few tools, resources, and a trusty Lightsaber to give them a head start. However, there are some key differences. Most notably, PvP is enabled, and since players join online sessions with others, they can choose to work together or battle it out.
Another important change is that, while most Utility Stations are present, Village Squares and Villagers are not available. Build options are also limited to the player's owned LEGO Build Sets. Additionally, because custom worlds aren’t supported, progress is tied to the current session only, which lasts up to four hours. Once the session ends or the player leaves, all progress that the player has made will be lost.
Day and night cycles in this mode are also much faster, and players will be unable to fast travel via the Bus Station. Finally, Rapid Survival has the permadeath feature enabled. If a player is eliminated—whether by another player, Stormtroopers, wildlife, or environmental hazards—and they don't have a Totem of Return, they'll take an early trip back to the lobby.
LEGO Fortnite Rapid Survival can be found in the "By Epic" section when browsing Fortnite experiences via the main menu. However, if players can’t find it there, simply head to the search tab next to "Play" and type in "Rapid Survival."
Quests & Earning XP
While LEGO Fortnite Rapid Survival introduces its own unique gameplay rules that make it a fun mode to explore, it also offers a solid way to earn XP just by playing. In addition to the regular Playtime XP players gain, the mode includes a special set of “Try Rapid Survival” quests that reward a total of 240,000 XP upon completion, along with daily quests that provide an additional 3,000 XP every day.
Each quest involves fairly standard in-game tasks that players can complete passively, but they can also be tracked using the “Track Quest” feature, which makes progression easier to follow. Altogether, this makes trying out Rapid Survival even more rewarding, as players can rack up XP and earn extra levels across any Passes they currently own.
Is LEGO Fortnite Rapid Survival a Permanent Mode?
LEGO Fortnite Rapid Survival made its debut on May 16, 2025, but the mode is not permanent. LEGO Fortnite Rapid Survival will be available for a limited time, running from May 16 until May 27 at 9 AM ET. However, there’s a good chance it could return in the future following its initial end date.
