LEGO Fortnite has received a major overhaul in content with the debut of the Star Wars collaboration. From May 3 and onwards, players can dive into the Star Wars Island and battle against Stormtroopers, build the defenses of their Rebel Outpost and progress through the Rebel Adventure Pass. Additional items are also available, granting players access to an array of weapons.

LEGO Fortnite: How to Get Macrobinoculars (& How to Use Them)

Macrobinoculars play a vital role in locating the Rebel Outpost and Imperial Bunkers in LEGO Fortnite, and here's how to get them.

When diving into the LEGO Fortnite Star Wars Island, aspiring Jedi masters can get their hands on Lightsabers, while also testing their marksmanship with the E-11 Blaster. Though each weapon has its strengths, Thermal Detonators are also a valuable addition to your arsenal - here is how to craft them.

How to Craft a Thermal Detonator

To craft a Thermal Detonator, players must first have access to a Rebel Workbench - a specialized Workbench used to craft most of the Star Wars items in LEGO Fortnite. Once acquired, players can then use the Rebel Workbench to craft a Thermal Detonator with the following resources:

  • 2 Durasteel
  • 1 Blast Core

While Durasteel can be crafted via a Metal Smelter using 2 Scrap Durasteel, getting a hold of Blast Cores is a little more tricky. Blast Cores are dropped by eliminated Blasters, a hostile Roller variant found within the Dry Lands biome. Before heading over to the Dry Lands to battle this deadly foe, it is advised that gamers stock up on items that will allow them to survive the heat.

Once gamers are in the Dry Lands and have located a Blaster, they can simply head towards the creature to provoke it. Next, swiftly retreat, for this pesky critter will pursue the player before detonating - leaving behind a single Blast Core upon doing so.

How to Use a Thermal Detonator

Thermal Detonators are powerful explosives in LEGO Fortnite, proving rather effective in disposing of groups of Stormtroopers and other hostile mobs, as well as destroying structures to harvest heaps of resources. To use a Thermal Detonator in LEGO Fortnite, simply equip it into the Quickbar. Once equipped, players can either throw it immediately by pressing the Fire input action key or hold it down for extra precision before releasing it.

A Thermal Detonator will explode shortly after being thrown, so be sure to step away from the blast zone to avoid taking damage.
