During their missions, players can complete quests and take on powerful enemies—sometimes at the exact same time. One of the toughest enemies that players may face is the dreaded Spires, which are actually tied to a quest that yields a hefty XP reward upon completion. Where to Find a Spire in LEGO Fortnite Expeditions
Spires are enemies that players can occasionally take on in any mission in LEGO Fortnite Expeditions. However, there are two missions that players should look out for when aiming to take one on. The first is the Spire Slayers Mission, which guarantees a Spire boss fight at the end. The second is any mission over at the Spire Excavation Site, which offers players a high chance of facing off against a Spire as the final objective.
Once players load into any of the previously mentioned missions, they will then need to complete the first two objectives given to them as part of the mission. These can often vary from mission to mission, but will be shown on screen for players for reference, and their locations will also be showcased on the map.
While completing objectives, it’s best to be on the lookout for gear such as Health Gadgets, Armor Gadgets, Super Smoothies for healing, and weapons of a higher rarity. All of these items can be dropped from eliminated enemies or found in Chests throughout the mission. Once each objective is complete, players will then be able to take on a boss for the final objective, which will be marked on the map and the compass.
How to Defeat a Spire in LEGO Fortnite Expeditions
Once players are given the objective to defeat a Spire, they can head over to the marked location to begin the boss battle. For much of the boss fight, the Spire will be invulnerable to attacks, and can only be damaged when it slams all three of its floating masks onto the ground, after which they will glow yellow. Targeting these weak points during these moments is the only time that players will be able to chip away at the Spires' health.
For the times that the Spire is invulnerable, it will make use of several attacks that players will need to avoid and deal with to avoid being eliminated. Here is a breakdown of the Spire’s attacks and how to deal with them:
- Spire AOE Attack: One of the floating weak points of the Spire will be raised and slammed into the ground, causing an AOE attack. Back away from the Spire when the weak point is raised to avoid taking damage. Once the weak spot is on the ground, players can shoot it to dish out damage.
- Mask Ranged Attack: Occasionally, the Spire will fire out several mask projectiles from diamond-shaped portals that can lock onto the player. Strafe left or right to avoid the masks' path, utilize dodge rolls, or take cover.
- Laser Attack: Easily anticipated by its large wind-up time and the red glow from the center of the Spire. Back away either forward or backward, as the laser will arc slowly from right to left.
Players should also be mindful of the large groups of enemies that will continuously spawn during the boss fight, as it’s pretty easy to get swarmed. AOE abilities like Hunter’s Frenzied Hunt serves as an excellent way to dispatch multiple enemies at once.
By surviving each of the Spire’s attacks and dealing damage to its weak points, players will be able to defeat the Spire in no time. For the player lucky enough to land the final blow, they’ll also complete the In-Spired quest, earning 30,000 XP upon completion.
