Tears of the Kingdom features various minerals that players can gather by mining Ore Deposits. These minerals are incredibly valuable - they sell for a lot of Rupees, but they also have various other uses that players may not know about.
Before the player decides to sell their gemstones in Tears of the Kingdom, they should make sure they know what each mineral does. Minerals can be used to make Link's Armor stronger, or his gear more powerful. They can also be used to unlock some of the rarest weapons in the game. Here, players can find out what each mineral in Tears of the Kingdom does, and how much it's worth.
Diamond
Diamonds are one of the rarest items in Tears of the Kingdom, but they are certainly worth hunting down. Fusing a Diamond to a weapon will grant it a huge +25 Damage boost. Diamonds are also incredibly valuable and sell at 500 Rupees a piece. However, players should try to save their Diamonds. If the player trades enough gems with the Amber Dealer in Goron City, she will request the player bring her some Diamonds. She will pay 5500 Rupees for 10 Diamonds, making it worth the player's time to save them up.
Diamonds are also incredibly useful for unlocking some of the best weapons in Tears of the Kingdom. The Champion's weapons can be unlocked by completing a region's main quest and speaking to certain NPCs. They will then request that players bring enough materials to craft the weapon, and these materials will always include Diamonds. By doing this, players can unlock the
Great Eagle Bow, the
Lightscale Trident, the Boulder Breaker, the
Scimitar of the Seven, and the daybreaker
Daybreaker. Additionally, if the player wants to upgrade their
Diamond Circlet fully, they will need to save up 18 Diamonds total.
Ruby
When a Ruby is fused to a weapon, it will gain the ability to shoot fireballs. If the Ruby is fused to an arrow, it will add an AOE fire damage. When fused to a shield, it will gain Cold Resistance and, if an attack is successfully blocked, it will cause a small explosion. This makes it an excellent choice for players exploring the colder regions of Hyrule.
Rubies can be sold to most merchants for 110 Rupees a piece, and are an excellent way to make money in Tears of the Kingdom. They can also be used to upgrade certain Armor pieces, such as the Vah Rudania Divine Helm and Ruby Circlet.
Sapphire
In Tears of the Kingdom, if the player fuses a Sapphire to their weapon, they will be able to shoot ice balls with the fused weapon. When fused with an arrow, the Sapphire will cause AOE ice damage. Finally, when fused with a shield, the Sapphire will provide some Fire Resistance. If the player manages to block an attack with the fused shield, it will cause a freezing blast.
Sapphires are one of the most valuable minerals in Tears of the Kingdom and can be sold for 150 Rupees a piece. Players strapped for cash should definitely consider selling the Sapphires. Sapphires can also be used to upgrade certain equipment, such as the Sky set and
Sapphire Circlet.
Topaz
When the player fuses Topaz with a weapon in Tears of the Kingdom, the weapon will gain the ability to shoot electric balls. If the Topaz is fused to an arrow, it will cause a powerful AOE electric damage attack. When fused with a shield, the Topaz will protect Link from shock attacks and provide some Shock Resistance. Any attacks blocked with the fused shield will cause a wave of electricity.
Additionally, Topaz can be sold for 80 Rupees a piece. However, if the player is wanting to upgrade certain Armor pieces, they should consider saving them. Topaz can be used to upgrade pieces such as the Vah Naboris Divine Helm,
Topaz Earrings, and the Twilight set.
Opal
In Tears of the Kingdom, fusing an Opal to a weapon will give it the ability to shoot water ball attacks. When the Opal is fused with an arrow, it will gain an AOE water damage attack. If the Opal is fused with a shield, any time Link blocks an attack, the shield will douse the enemies in water.
Opals can also be sold for 30 Rupees a piece, or used to upgrade certain Armor pieces, such as the Vah Ruta Divine Helm and opal earrings
Opal Earrings.
Amber
Amber is one of the more common minerals in Tears of the Kingdom. When fused with a weapon, it will provide it with an additional +4 damage. This isn't all that impressive, and players should save their Amber for Armor upgrades or to sell.
Amber can be sold for 30 Rupees a piece. However, if the player has yet to come across the Amber Dealer in Goron City, it's recommended they wait until then before they sell them. The Amber Dealer will purchase the player's Amber at a premium price, making it certainly worth the wait.
