Tears of the Kingdom brought back several amiibo-exclusive armor and weapons from Breath of the Wild, and one of these is the
White Sword of the Sky. In Breath of the Wild, you can obtain this weapon by scanning the Skyward Sword Link amiibo. While it can still be obtained via the same methods in Tears of the Kingdom, you now have the option of getting the White Sword of the Sky through "The Mother Goddess Statue," a lengthy side quest that requires three items that can only be obtained from dragons. Before embarking on this quest, you'll want to know whether the White Sword of the Sky is worth the trouble.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - How To Get A Cobble Crusher
While the Boulder Breaker is the worst of the four Legendary Armaments, Cobble Crushers are still pretty useful. But, where can Link even find them?
The Mother Goddess Statue Walkthrough
How to Complete
If you find and speak to Impa at the New Serenne Stable in Tabantha, you'll start a side adventure called "The Dragon's Tears." After helping Impa, you'll be directed to the Forgotten Temple, where you'll find a map detailing each Geoglyph location and the order in which you should visit them. However, before you view the map, you'll notice a large Goddess Statue has been knocked over in the Forgotten Temple. This is the Mother Goddess Statue, and "speaking" to it will initiate another side quest.
After speaking to the Mother Goddess Statue, you'll need to go to the three Goddess Statues around Hyrule and assist them. The statues can be found at the Spring of Power, Courage, and Wisdom. You will then need to get one Dragon's Claw from the three Dragons that fly around Hyrule. Then, drop each Dragon Claw into the corresponding Spring (ex: Naydra's Claw in Spring of Wisdom).
Once you've placed a Dragon Claw in each of the Springs, return to the Forgotten Temple to see the repaired Mother Goddess Statue. Pray to her, and you'll receive the White Sword of the Sky.
Spring Locations
Spring of Courage Location
The Spring of Courage is in the Faron Region of Hyrule. It's south of Popla Foothills and the Jiukoum Shrine. If you haven't discovered the Jiukoum Shrine, then warp to the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower instead. The exact location of the Spring of Courage is 0874, -2364, 0016.
Spring of Power Location
The Spring of Power is west of the East Akkala Stable. You can get there by warping to the Jochi-Iu Shrine. The Spring of Power is hidden behind a wall of leaves (3708, 2602, 0000) that you'll need to burn down. You can use a Fire Fruit or, if you have it, the Vow of Yunobo. Once you've taken care of the vines, head on in to pray to the Goddess Statue of Power.
Spring of Wisdom Location
You'll find the Spring of Wisdom on the summit of Mount Lanayru. The easiest way to reach this is by diving from the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower. Otherwise, you can walk the path leading to the summit. Since this area will be colder than the Spring of Power and Spring of Courage, you'll need to have cold-resistant gear or food/elixirs to prevent Link from taking damage. The exact coordinates for the Spring of Wisdom are 3918, -1331, 0466.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: Can You Fight Ganondorf Without the Master Sword?
The Master Sword is a one-of-a-kind weapon in the Legend of Zelda series, but do you really need it to defeat Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom?
Where to Get Dragon Claws
Naydra, Dinraal, and Farosh
To farm Dragon Claws, you'll need to shoot an arrow at the dragon's hand. When you're near a dragon, there will be an updraft that will launch you into the air if you're using the paraglider. If you have the Vow of Tulin, you can use it to get closer to the dragon's hand. If you're running out of stamina, quickly close and open the paraglider (X-button) while you're in an updraft. This will restore your stamina wheel to full.
Unlike Breath of the Wild, the dragons' flight paths in Tears of the Kingdom are set to real time. Meaning you won't find Farosh in the Faron Region at night, Naydra won't descend from Mount Lanayru during the morning, etc. Instead, you'll want to know the flight paths of each dragons and wait for them to fly by. Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh all fly above the Surface and into the Depths.
Naydra's Flight Path
Naydra will drop Naydra's Claw, which you'll need for the Spring of Wisdom. She flies into the East Hills Chasm, which you can find in Kakariko Village. If you're hoping to catch her as she emerges from The Depths, then you'll want to go to the Naydra Snowfield Chasm. The closest fast-travel points are the Zakusu Shrine and the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower.
Naydra can freeze you if you're struck by the ice that emits from her body. To avoid this, wear armor that prevents Freeze. Zant's Helmet has this ability as does a level 2 Snowquill Set.
Nearby landmarks/fast-travel points:
Naydra Snowfield (exits Depths):
- Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower (3845, -1306, 0539)
- Zakusu Shrine (3527, -1482, 0168)
East Hill (enters Depths):
- Kakariko Village (1822, -1002, 0112)
Dinraal's Flight Path
Dinraal can be found northeast of Hyrule. Dinraal enters the Drenan Highlands Chasm and will follow a path that leads to the East Akkala Plains Chasm. From here, she'll emerge from The Depths to fly above The Surface of Hyrule.
Like Naydra, Dinraal can unintentionally harm Link if he's not careful. She can scorch Link with the fire radiating from her body, but if Link is too close to her, he'll catch ablaze. You'll need flame-resistant armor or Flame Elixirs to combat this. You can get flame-resistant armor from Goron City. You'll also want to avoid equipping wooden weapons, shields, or bows.
Nearby landmarks/fast-travel points:
Drenan Highlands (enters Depths):
- Typhlo Ruins Skyview Tower (0338, 3123, 0174)
- Kikakin Shrine (-0395, 2736, 0287)
East Akkala Plains (exits Depths):
- Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower (3493, 2019, 0188)
- Sinatanika Shrine (3842, 2300, 0048)
Farosh's Flight Path
Farosh will roam the skies above the western Faron and eastern Gerudo regions. She emerges from the Depths at the East Gerudo Chasm; she enters The Depths from the Hills of Baumer Chasm.
Farosh brings stormclouds with her wherever she goes, and if you're wearing metal, you'll bring the lightning right to you. You'll also want to avoid the electricity that floats up from her body. If Link doesn't have shock resistance, he'll drop whatever weapon he's holding and be zapped out of the sky. You can prevent this by wearing the Rubber Armor Set or eating meals/elixirs that have shock-resistance effects.
Nearby landmarks/fast-travel points:
East Gerudo (exits Depths):
- Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower (-2423, -2202, 0302)
- Siwakama Shrine (-2445, -3345, 0041)
Hills of Baumer (enters Depths):
- Popla Foothills Skyview Tower (0602, -2118, 0098)
- Susub Shrine (0348, -2051, -0026)
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - All Goddess Statue Locations
There are many different Goddess Statues spread across Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom for players to spend their Blessings of Light on.
How to Get Another White Sword of the Sky
Can You Buy the White Sword of the Sky?
The White Sword of the Sky has a base power of 24, making it weaker than the Master Sword. Since it's an exclusive weapon, you can only have one at a time. Unfortunately, the White Sword of the Sky can break, and if this happens, you won't be able to buy a new one from the Poe Statues. Instead, you'll need to bring a Dragon's Claw from Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh to the Mother Goddess Statue to get a new White Sword of the Sky.
