League of Legends, developed by Riot Games, is arguably the best multiplayer online battle arena game out there (MOBA). It features a huge roster, with over 140 different champions to choose from, each with their own fully developed lore and backgrounds. Players are sure to find a character that suits their playstyle or aesthetic.

With that many champions comes plenty of skins and cosmetics to equip, which are purchased using RP (Riot Points) which is bought with real money. Every year, League of Legends releases several skin sets to commemorate the Halloween festivities, known as the Harrowing event. While these skins have no in-game benefits, they are perfectly spooky enough to get into the spirit of Halloween!

12 Pretty Cat Rengar

League of Legends, Rengar

Can rainbows, cats, and a pastel palette be suitable for Halloween? Maybe not traditionally, but the Pretty Cat Rengar skin is an anomaly in this regard. There is nothing else in League of Legends quite as terrifying as Rengar leaping from a bush or stealth mode and instantly killing a player.

There is nothing Pretty about Rengar, as this skin is certain to give any player a jumpscare with his earsplitting meow. Pretty Cat Rengar couples cuteness with lethality, making it one of the most iconic skins in League of Legends.

11 Zombie Brand

League of Legends, Brand

It wouldn't be Halloween without some zombies thrown into the mix! The Zombie Brand skin fits the champion perfectly, with his gaunt face and tattered clothes. His walking animation, slumped posture and even his sound effects can be compared to comic-book zombies or The Walking Dead TV series.

This is one of the older skins in League of Legends, but it still holds up as one of the spookiest skins players can equip for Halloween. If players kill Zombie Brand, he will transform into a gravestone.

10 Nosferatu Vladimir

League of Legends, Vladmir

Vladimir's whole appearance, lore, and mechanics are essentially based on Bram Stoker's Dracula and the Nosferatu adaptation, both of which involves the legends of the mythical vampires. Some of Vladimir's voice lines are puns involving blood, like "Go ahead, be negative. You'd be just my type."

Vladimir's abilities are all blood-based, just like an actual vampire, allowing him to drain blood from enemy targets to restore his own health, or sink into a pool of blood and become invulnerable for a short period.

9 Witch's Brew Blitzcrank

League of Legends, Blitzcrank

Witches and their cauldrons are a Halloween staple, as shown by the sheer amount of Bewitching skins in the game. The Witch's Brew Blitzcrank skin turns the Support sentinel robot's torso into a massive pumpkin with a jack o' lantern face carved into the front, and a bubbling purple potion oozing from the top.

The floating green eyeball above his pumpkin torso is definitely eye-catching. Blitzcrank's Rocket Grab arm becomes almost claw-like and even more deadly; absolutely terrifying for any poor player that ends up in his grasp.

8 Bewitching Yuumi

League of Legends, Yuumi

This delightful skin is Riot Game's interpretation of a witch's familiar, the supposed unlucky cat. This skin shows Yuumi with a glowing pumpkin head, coupled with her spellbook; It is clear this is one of the most creative skins in League of Legends.

When Yuumi triggers her passive, Bop n' Block, Yuumi shoots out a projectile that causes bats and autumnal leaves to flurry around her, forming the shield. When she uses Zoomies, a pumpkin-head mirage appears, coupled with ghostly sound effects. Bewitching Yuumi is no scaredy cat!

7 Fright Night Annie

League of Legends, Annie

Fright Night Annie is one of Riot Games' 2022 additions and has been released just in time for Halloween. The splash art very clearly takes inspiration from the Don't Starve games and Tim Burton, both of which have a clear gothic aesthetic.

Annie's character design is also uncannily similar to Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family, with her braided hair in bunches and her monochrome aesthetic. Annie can use her Ultimate to spawn Tibbers, who appears in purple-fire inferno. Tibbers looks very dapper and suave with his top hat and suit, with a cobweb design on the rear.

6 Fright Night Draven

League of Legends, Draven

Riot Games was clearly heavily inspired by cult-classic horror movies like Friday the 13th's villain, Jason Voorhees, when creating this Fright Night skin for Draven. The gothic grey undertones of this Halloween skin are perfectly the spooky season and a great way to bring a fright into the bottom lane.

Armed with his hockey mask, deadly chainsaws and his egomaniacal personality, Draven is sure to massacre the opposing team while wearing this skin. His recall animation shows Draven carving a caricature of himself in a hedge using his chainsaws.

5 Headless Hecarim

League of Legends, Hecarim

There have been many renditions of the Headless Horseman throughout pop culture, but Headless Hecarim is by far the best representation. It is part of the Trick or Treat skin set, and features Hecarim with a luminous pumpkin head and flaming embers rising as he runs.

As he uses his Ultimate ability, ghostly apparitions of Headless Hecarim will run towards the enemy, resulting in the fear debuff being inflicted on them.

4 Haunting Nocturne

League of Legends, Nocturne

Another classic Harrowing event skin from League of Legends is Haunting Nocturne. In the splash art, he is pictured as a typical DIY-sheet ghost costume, but he looks oddly adorable yet phantasmal. The visual effects and designs of this skin are a little outdated, but it is still perfect for the Halloween season.

RELATED: League Of Legends: The Strongest Champions According To Lore His Ultimate remains one of the scariest in the game, as the screen turns black, obscuring the opposing teams' vision. As an Assassin, Nocturne can leap across the map onto an unsuspecting victim; positively ghoulish.

3 Bewitching Morgana

League of Legends, Morgana

Morgana is one of the most punishing and fun-to-play original League of Legends champions. This Halloween-themed depicts the Support champion as a witch, matching the dark spells she casts. Her rooting Q ability will dissipate into a cloud of bats when it hits a target.

This skin has a stark contrast between the bright red of Morgana's hair and the purple shade of her demonic wings and her witch's robes.
