  • Each champion in Swarm, like Jinx, Seraphine, and Leona, brings a different playstyle to the game, offering diverse strategies for success.

Swarm is the newest game mode for League of Legends and will be available to play until the 19th of August. The 35 Best League Of Legends Skins

League of Legends has a variety of interesting skins for players to try. These are some of the best on offer.

2

While trying to survive the hordes of enemies and eventually defeat some bosses, players will be able to switch between nine different playable champions, although only two will be unlocked at the start. To unlock more champions in Swarm, players will need to complete quests that range from simple objectives to defeating bosses on harder difficulties. Champions in Swarm are slightly different from their traditional counterparts, with every character having a Signature Weapon, a passive, and just two abilities that aren't necessarily what players are used to.

1 Battle Cat Jinx

Unlocked At The Start

League of Legends Swarm Jinx

Abilities

  • Fishbones: Jinx sends out a swarm of 9 rockets that travel in random directions and explode on impact.
  • Super Mega Death Rocket!: Jinx's normal ultimate.

Usually found in the Bot Lane, Jinx is one of the starter champs for Swarm in League of Legends, and as always, she feels fantastic to pilot. She deals plenty of damage and with more ability haste for her autos, as well as some movement speed to kite, she can zip around the map mowing down waves. This is especially true when her passive kicks in, granting her even more speed or ability haste.

2 Battle Dove Seraphine

Unlocked At The Start

League of Legends Swarm Seraphine

Abilities

  • Surround Sound: Grant a shield and movement speed to nearby allies.
  • The Perfect Note: Nearby allies are granted invulnerability while enemies are rooted and forced to dance before taking damage and being pushed away.

On top of her supportive shield and cataclysmic ult, Seraphine is all about projectiles in Swarm, as her passive grants each attack the opportunity to repeat all projectiles for even more damage. As Augments allow Seraphine and other champions to increase the amount of projectiles they send out, it's easy to see why things can soon get wild.

3 Battle Lion Leona

Unlock By Upgrading Searing Shortbow To Lvl 2

League of Legends Swarm Leona

Abilities

  • Eclipse: Leona gains 200% Armor and a shield which then explodes to damage nearby enemies.
  • Solar Flare: Leona's normal ult, but it leaves a scorched zone for 12 seconds after stunning enemies.

Leona is likely the first new champion players will unlock, and she also happens to be the easiest to play due to how tanky she is. Despite being a support in League, Leona in Swarm doesn't have much utility, but she makes up for this by being able to push her way through enemy waves, which results in her dealing more damage with her shield.

4 Battle Bear Illaoi

Unlock By Upgrading Radiant Field To Lvl 4

League of Legends

Abilities

  • Tentacle Smash: Illaoi slams down, damaging and knocking up enemies. She can store 2 charges of this ability.
  • Leap of Faith: Illaoi leaps and slams down for huge damage in an area, gaining ability haste and spawning more Tentacles around her.

League Of Legends: The Most Beginner Friendly Champions

Despite the age of League of Legends and its competitive scene, it remains one of the premier competitive games on the market right now.

Similarly to how she can dominate the Top Lane, Illaoi in Swarm is all about controlling an area and watching enemies coming closer to die. This is because wherever her Tentacles are, she is stronger. Not only do Illaoi's Tentacles periodically attack enemies, but they also grant increased health regen to Illaoi and any nearby allies. With some durability to keep her alive and ability haste for her devastating ult, Illaoi quickly becomes unstoppable.

5 Primordian Briar

Unlock By Defeating Briar On The Outskirts

League of Legends Briar
League of Legends Briar

Abilities

  • Fish Frenzy & Survival Scream: Briar enters Frenzy mode, gaining many buffs, and can cancel it by screaming to damage and heal herself.
  • Dive Bomb: Briar's usual ult with more damage, but without the Fear.

As in the Jungle, Briar in Swarm is all about playing on the edge, going from imminent death one second, to full health the next. She has arguably the strongest autos in the game mode, swiping in two large arcs, and when low on HP she deals more damage and moves faster. When players need to heal back up, they can simply exit her Frenzy mode.

6 Battle Wolf Yasuo

Unlock By Beating Bel'Veth On The Subterranean Lab

League of Legends Yasuo

Abilities

  • Sweeping Blade: Yasuo dashes to a target, damaging them and gaining a shield. He can hold 3 charges of this ability.
  • Wind Wall: Yasuo's wall travels forward, pushing enemies away and destroying projectiles.

Despite being one of League's most hated champions, Yasuo is incredibly fun to play in Swarm as he has great mobility and yet also fires out waves of whirlwinds that can take over the screen later in the game when he's unlocked more projectiles. His ultimate is also easily one of the best and can save the entire team from defeat.

7 Battle Bunny Prime Riven

Unlock By Defeating Rek'Sai On Hard Difficulty

League of Legends Battle Bunny Prime Riven

Abilities

  • Valor: Riven dashes to damage and stun enemies.
  • Blade of the Exile/Wind Slash: Riven gains movement speed and empowers her normal attacks. Every time she lands after dashing, she sends out Wind Slash to damage enemies.

Riven in Swarm is all about non-stop movement and doesn't even need to aim as she damages enemies by simply running into them or by bunny-hopping onto them. She has shields, dashes, and scales best with movement speed. She is easily one of the most fun to play as, and players put off by her hard-to-master reputation in normal League need fear not as there are no animation cancels required in Swarm.

8 Battle Bunny Aurora

Unlock By Defeating 25 Mini-bosses On Hard Difficulty

League of Legends Battle Bunny Aurora

Abilities

  • Across the Veil: Aurora dashes to become invulnerable and any enemy she goes near takes damages and is hexed, but she cannot use her normal attacks.
  • Between Worlds: Aurora jumps to create a rift where she gains high movement speed and can teleport from one boundary to another. Enemies around her landing location are damaged.

Every Game Set In The League Of Legends Universe, Ranked

Several games are set in the League of Legends universe, with plenty more to come. Here's how they stack up.

Aurora is the new kid on the block in League of Legends, and is also one of the playable champions in Swarm, even if she is only unlocked later on. Her playstyle is a tad unconventional and takes a while to get used to, but when things click, she becomes very fun to pilot. With her attacks first applying a hex before procing for damage on a follow-up attack, Aurora will want to constantly retrace her steps and should not always be running away.

9 Battle Bat Xayah

Unlock By Completing A Total Of 20 Bel'Veth Trials On Hard Difficulty

League of Legends Battle Bat Xayah

Abilities

  • Bladecaller: Xayah recalls her daggers, damaging and rooting enemies they pass through.
  • Bladestorm: Xayah's normal ultimate.

Xayah in Swarm plays very similarly to how she does in normal League with an emphasis on scattering the floor with daggers that they can be pulled back for terrific damage. Interestingly, however, any XP orbs or gold coins that Xayah collects are also treated as projectiles and will thus damage enemies on their way back to her. This makes farming even more satisfying.
