Naughty Dog has just released a hotfix for The Last of Us Part 1 meant to address some ongoing issues with the beleaguered PC port of the classic title. The release of this latest hotfix comes just days after Update 1.0.4 for The Last of Us Part 1 was pushed out to players, bringing with it some much-appreciated improvements to graphical fidelity at lower settings and addressing some lingering crashes.Released in March following the success of other recent PC ports of popular PlayStation titles, The Last of Us Part 1 gave gamers outside of the console ecosystem their first chance to experience director Neil Druckmann’s acclaimed action-adventure game. While many players were excited at the thought of putting the gorgeous title through its paces on a high-end PC, performance issues and numerous bugs in The Last of Us Part 1 quickly left some gamers regretting their purchase. While Naughty Dog has continued to patch the game since release, addressing some of the most serious issues encountered by players, gamers continue to report problems with the seemingly less-than-polished port. In a new tweet from the official Naughty Dog Twitter account, the developer has announced that hotfix 1.0.4.1 for The Last of Us Part 1 is now being pushed out to PC players. Linked in the tweet, the full patch notes reveal that the hotfix resolves some ongoing issues with the game. In what’s sure to be welcome news to players who found themselves stuck when trying to load into the game, the hotfix addresses an issue where loading into the game while shaders are compiling could lead to “an infinite hang.” The update also fixes an error where crash data sent to Naughty Dog could have incomplete telemetry, making it harder for the developer to discover why players are crashing.[EMBED_TWITTER]https://twitter.com/Naughty_Dog/status/1652010709088362496[/EMBED_TWITTER]Responses to the tweet revealed many players to be underwhelmed with the game’s performance even after repeated rounds of fixes. While some responses thanked Naughty Dog for continuing to address issues with the game others decried the still unstable state of the port, with some users responding that they wanted a refund for The Last of Us Part 1. Some players who had purchased the game on Steam chimed in to note that, despite the announcement of the release of the hotfix, it wasn’t showing up on Valve’s digital distribution platform yet. While this hotfix is good news for players dealing with the small number of issues it addresses, it’s clear that many gamers are unhappy with the state of the game nearly a month on from its release. And while it's likely that Naughty Dog will address all of the most egregious bugs eventually, even the appeal of modding The Last of Us may not be enough to keep some PC players waiting around in the meantime.
