The Last of Us Part 1 is a PS5 remake of the original PS3 game. It features improved visuals, redone character models, and some gameplay enhancements. Furthermore, The Last of Us Part 1 gives users a choice between native 4K at 30 fps and dynamic 4K at 60 fps. While the story and the core of the game remain the same, it brings The Last of Us more in line with The Last of Us Part 2. Please note that this article will have some SPOILERS for The Last of Us Part 1.
Since its release, fans have discovered some new Easter eggs in the game. For example, The Last of Us Part 1 has a new Mortal Kombat Easter egg, and other secrets are probably hidden throughout this remake. Now, another fan figures out a neat detail about globes in The Last of Us Part 1.
A Reddit user named im—stuff has shared a funny clip from The Last of Us Part 1 which seemingly takes place in the Capitol Building. It features Joel continuously hitting a globe with a plank and making it spin with every attack. Joel lets out an angry grunt of sorts every time he hits the globe, adding to the hilarity on display. The post’s title is appropriately funny and im—stuff confirms in one of the comments that shooting the globe has the same effect.
Some users comment on how the video describes the ending of The Last of Us as it foreshadows Joel possibly dooming the world by killing the doctors and recusing Ellie. A couple of other players jokingly mention that is what Naughty Dog meant when they said The Last of Us Part 1 will feature enhanced exploration. One user even tried punching the globe, causing it to spin with the right hand and stop with the left.
The Last of Us Part 1 is a fully priced game, so it costs $70 like other PS5 titles such as Demon’s Souls and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The Last of Us Part 1 received criticism for its high asking price, with users determined to mention it in every post. The same is true for this Reddit post, although they received downvotes from other fans.
The increased price point impacts cross-gen releases as well. The PS5 versions of some cross-gen games, such as Horizon Forbidden West, are available as a free upgrade. However, now players will have to pay $10 more for the PS5 version of cross-gen Sony-published games including the highly anticipated God of War Ragnarok.
The Last of Us Part 1 is available now on PS5. A PC version is currently in development.
