Considering the massive success of the previous two games, it's really no surprise that Naughty Dog and Sony are apparently making a new Last of Us game. Unfortunately, ViewerAnon stopped short of providing any additional details on the project.

While The Last of Us 3 may be in development at Naughty Dog, it doesn't mean that it will be the studio's next game. In fact, it's already been announced that a Last of Us multiplayer game is in the works. Originally meant to be tied to The Last of Us 2, The Last of Us multiplayer game is in development as a standalone project. No release date for The Last of Us multiplayer game has been announced, but one has to imagine that it's the next game that will be released by Naughty Dog.

A completely different game is rumored to be in development at Naughty Dog as well. Rumors have persisted that Naughty Dog is making sci-fi or steampunk game called Stray's Cross. Nothing official on that project has been announced at the time of this writing, but if it exists, one has to imagine that it would precede The Last of Us 3 as well, though that's just speculation at this time.

Naughty Dog has consistently released new games every two to three years. It's been two years since The Last of Us 2 launched, so one has to imagine that the studio's next game will be out at some point in 2023, but fans will have to stand by for more information.
