Developer Eleventh Hour Games has revealed Last Epoch update plans for 2025, introducing Monolith of Fate and dungeon improvements, new champion enemies, endgame bosses, crafting additions, and more. The Last Epoch Season 2 update, anticipated to be released in April, will include these modifications along with bug fixes.

The popular action RPG Last Epoch, released in 2024, achieved significant popularity, peaking at over 250,000 concurrent online players upon release. In the game, players explore the world of Eterra, moving between different timelines to save the future. Last Epoch features a wide range of character builds, allowing players to fine-tune their characters in many different ways. In December, Eleventh Hour Games revealed some of its plans for Last Epoch in 2025, and now it has shared more details.

Last Epoch: How Nemesis Works

Nemesis is a new random encounter system in Last Epoch that provides an additional way to earn powerful loot throughout the game.

Eleventh Hour Games revealed Last Epoch's upcoming changes for Season 2 in a recent blog post. Responding to fan feedback, the developer is implementing a new waypoint for The Bazaar and The Observatory, making it easier for players to travel. However, Eleventh Hour Games reminds players that these new waypoints will not allow them to skip the Last Epoch campaign and cannot be used to travel back to Maj’Elka. Additionally, Season 2 will bring controller improvements, including an overhaul of skill-targeting mechanics to give players more flexibility.

Moreover, the developer has teased important Last Epoch dungeon improvements, enhancing the new player experience with unique rewards and mechanics. The game is also bringing an upgrade to Monolith of Fate, adding new echo objectives, enemies, and endgame bosses, along with crafting additions and a “completely re-created Volatile Reversal skill.”

Players will now be able to report bugs by pressing F8. This new quality-of-life feature allows them to share screenshots of UI issues and report them, streamlining the bug resolution process. The new bug reporting tool’s input options for keyboards can also be customized according to players’ needs. Eleventh Hour Games assured players that Season 2 is tackling a long-standing list of bugs. These include issues with online play, visual glitches and lighting, problems with armor cooldown, and bugs involving specific abilities, such as Lightning Blast’s Halo Effect not working properly.

Even though the developer has fixed many bugs in previous Last Epoch updates, the game still has a “bug debt” that the developer is committed to tackling with this upcoming patch. While players wait for April 2025, there is still plenty to look forward to in Last Epoch this year.
