Initially released back in March of 2022, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is one of several games to get a special Switch 2 upgrade. In addition to improved visuals and performance, the Switch 2 version of the game comes bundled with the Star-Crossed World DLC, which adds thirteen special Starry Stages to what is already a fantastic game.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Complete Guide

A complete guide to Kirby's latest adventure, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and all of the treats and secrets fans can find in the new 3D title.

Unfortunately, new players won't be able to start the Star-Crossed World DLC right away, although they won't have to wait too long to do so. Returning players who decide to carry over their save file should be able to get the ball rolling right away, but for those having trouble, the following Kirby and the Forgotten Land DLC guide should help.

How to Start the Star-Crossed World DLC in Kirby and the Forgotten Land

In order to start the Star-Crossed World DLC, Kirby and the Forgotten Land players will need to complete all five Natural Plains stages and then beat Gorimondo, who serves as the game's first proper boss. After they've done so, a cut-scene will play out showing a meteor crashing into the ocean to the east of the Natural Plains, and investigating this meteor will trigger the start of the DLC. It's worth noting that the thirteen DLC stages are spread out across various regions, so although it's possible to start Star-Crossed World having only cleared the Natural Plains, players will need to progress further through the base game's main story to finish the DLC. The final DLC stage (Crystal Beast Pack Volcano Battle) is in the Redgar Forbidden Lands region.

If players have already beaten Gorimondo, they can go straight to the volcanic island near the Natural Plains to start the Star-Crossed World DLC.

How Long Does it Take to Beat the Kirby and the Forgotten Land DLC? (Star-Crossed World Length)

Like most of the stages in the base version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, each of the thirteen DLC stages should take around ten minutes to complete. As such, players can expect to complete the Star-Crossed World DLC in around two to three hours. Those hoping to complete every bonus mission and rescue all 104 Starries should allow a little longer, as some of the hidden missions can be a little tricky and thus may require multiple playthroughs of a stage. The DLC is a lot of fun and a nice addition for those who missed out on the base game when it first dropped on the original Switch. However, those who've already played Kirby and the Forgotten Land may struggle to justify the cost of the upgrade.
