Gems are collected from gem chests, found on all islands in the game except the first. In each gem chest, players can expect to find two to four gems. The Monarch's coins and gems are kept safe in their purse. However, to keep gems safe, players should endeavor to keep them in the stone coffer of the Gem Keeper. It costs 1 coin per gem to get them back, but most fans of the game will agree that it's better to be safe than sorry.

The griffin is found on the first island, so to access this mount, players will have to return from the second island to unlock it. This mount is worth unlocking early in the game for its good all-round skills; it has both fair stamina and fast speed.

This mount is useful for more reasons, too: It feeds on rats, meanign that it can graze anywhere, which is especially helpful during long periods of exploration during winter. Furthermore, it can flap its wings, a move that momentarily paralyzes Greedlings.

4 Lizard Mount

A Slow Mount But Great For Defense

The Lizard Mount may have low stamina when compared with other mount options, but its fire spitting abilities set it apart as one of the most useful defensive mounts available in Kingdom Two Crowns. The lizard also has a high speed, which can be useful in combative scenarios.

This mount is always unlocked on the fourth island, where its habitat is marked by a fountain and decorated rock formations. The lizard egg is found underneath the rocks and hatches once the player has paid three gems.

3 Ballista Hermit

Helps Players Build Defensive Structures

Kingdom Two Crowns - A pixelated form of a man in brown cloak and hat on a field of blurred gameplay footage.

Unlocking Cost

3 Gems

Picking up the Ballista Hermit on the first island allows the player to turn a triplet or quadruplet archer tower into a ballista tower. The Ballista Tower is an excellent defense structure, allowing the player to engage in long-range defensive strategies operated by only one builder.

In Kingdom Two Crowns, the Ballista Hermit appears in a brown robe and hat with a green belt and feather. When the Ballista Hermit is ordered to upgrade the tower, he does a dance after dismounting.

2 Stable Hermit

Turns Mill Houses Into Mount Stables

Kingdom Two Crowns - A pixelated figure of a man wearing brown robes with blond hair on a field of blurred gameplay footage.

Unlocking Cost

1 Gem

This Hermit is a convenient and very cheap option for players to keep all mounts close by. No matter where mounts have been left previously, they will all appear in the stable, allowing the player optimal choice when selecting which mount to play with. Once the Stable Hermit has created the Stables, players can switch mounts for just 3 coins. This comes at the small risk of damaging crop fields under the building.

The Stable Hermit can be found on the second island, wearing a brown outfit with a brown and sable hat, with long blond hair. In the base game's European setting, the Stable Hermit also has a small pet alongside him.

1 Statue Of Archery

The Only Essential Statue In Kingdom Two Crowns

Each island in Kingdom Two Crowns has a statue, and many players have suggested that the best is found on the first island: the Statue of Archery. This beautiful stone statue depicts a stone archer reminiscent of Classical mythology. On the mossy pillars beside the statue are two braziers that indicate whether the shrine is active.

The Statue of Archery works by increasing the accuracy of all archers within the game, as well as increasing their speed in targeting wildlife and Greed. It is also believed that the active shrine to the Statue of Archery increases archers' overall damage, meaning that players will need to hit an enemy fewer times in order to kill it. At the cost of only 3 gems, this is certainly a worthwhile investment.
