The highly anticipated DLC expansion for Kingdom Hearts 3, ReMind, was announced late last year and is finally available for players to dive into. As some readers may know, the ending of Kingdom Hearts 3 left a bit ambiguous, leaving room open for further installments set in the Kingdom Hearts universe. Naturally, ReMind itself leaves room for the next game in the series to build upon the story bits that ReMind leaves behind.

How Long to Beat

The common consensus with Kingdom Hearts 3’s ReMind DLC is that the whole package can be finished in around three to five hours of playtime. Naturally, that has many fans upset and rightly so. For a $30 asking price, it’s hard to even recommend ReMind to the most diehard Kingdom Hearts fans, as the DLC pack has a few more issues that are sure to rub fans the wrong way. One of which is the heavy amount of content that is reused throughout ReMind.

After purchasing the expansion, players can start the ReMind DLC by heading to the bottom of the screen, selecting Downloadable Content, and choosing a save file. The DLC content itself is relatively short and mostly consists of cutscenes that show what happened after Kingdom Hearts 3’s climactic ending in the Keyblade Graveyard. Players will once again control Sora with the levels from the game’s campaign carried over to the DLC, but players will also have the chance to play as other characters like Kairi and Roxas.

Limitcut

The second aspect of the ReMind DLC comes in the form of Limitcut, or Data Battles. While most of ReMind itself consists of story content following up on the events of the main game, Limitcut is essentially an enhanced boss gauntlet for the members of Organization XIII. It’s recommended that players be at max levels for these fights, as some of the boss battles are very hard to beat.

All in all, these boss battles can almost be viewed separately from the boss battles players encountered in the main story, as they’ve been tweaked significantly. These bosses deal way more damage, take far more hits, and have revamped attack patterns making them much harder to land hits on altogether.

While ReMind is very short on content it does offer a decent amount for diehard fans to sin their teeth into. With Limitcut and the secret episode, the game offers players the chance to unlock three new endings and scenarios. While it is very hard to justify the full asking price of $30 for ReMind, fans who just can’t wait to get more Kingdom Hearts may find something to enjoy here.
