Kingdom Come: Deliverance offers a far more realistic role-playing experience than many fans of the genre may be used to, offering a deeper level of challenge, even if you don't play the game's Hardcore Mode. The increased realism has resulted in Warhorse Studios taking common RPG mechanics and fleshing them out with additional layers of depth.

Some quests in the game will require Henry to interact with places or people at certain times of day, so there will be periods where quickly advancing time is ideal. This, in addition to needing sleep for survival, makes it important for players to understand how to pass time in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

How To Pass Time in Kingdom Come: Deliverance

The wait mechanic in Kingdom Come: Deliverance

There are two waiting mechanics players can make use of in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, each with distinct differences, advantages, and disadvantages. If you are looking to pass time faster, you have the option to have Henry either wait or go to sleep.

How To Wait

The simplest way to quickly advance time in Kingdom Come: Deliverance is to wait. In order to do this, players simply need to press the wait button, allocate the number of hours/time they would like to wait until, then confirm. The wait button for PC is T, for Xbox is Select (two square symbol), and for PlayStation it is the touchpad.

Unlike sleeping, Henry can wait just about anywhere at anytime, but he will be awake the whole time, which means he will not be able to reduce his tiredness or increase his health. If you are intending to wait for a long time, then it is recommended that you have some food on hand and are adequately rested, as waiting will decrease Henry's nourishment levels.

How To Sleep

Alternatively, Henry also has the option to call it a day and sleep for a period as a means of passing the time. Unlike waiting, however, this cannot be done just anywhere, so players will first need to find a bed where he can sleep. Generally, you can use beds you find in camps, or in friendly houses, such as Theresa's in Rattay. To sleep, you will need to approach a bed and hold the indicated button (A for Xbox, X for PlayStation, and E for PC).

Sleeping is one of the most effective ways to replenish health in addition to passing time, and is a necessary task to avoid becoming overtired and suffering from an exhausted status effect. Like waiting, sleep will also decrease Henry's nourishment, so he will likely need to eat once he wakes up to start a new day.
