Speak to Jan Zizka

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 The Lion's Den Jan Zizka

The quest kicks off at the Devil's Den, where Henry meets with Jan Zizka. Before anything happens, players must wait for Sam to return with vital information. This gives players an entire in-game day to prepare. Use this time wisely and repair weapons and armor, read skill books to boost key attributes, brew potions like Strong Cockerel and Quickfinger, and Stock up on Groshen (aim for at least 800).

The next day, meet with Zizka again for a council of war. Henry will participate in a strategic discussion about dealing with Otto von Bergow and King Sigismund. To maintain and boost reputation, choose these dialogue options:

  • "We were very lucky."
  • "We shouldn't give up, that's the main thing." (MEDIUM Speech Check)
  • "Sir Hans is right."
  • "How do you mean?"
  • "So we'll steal it." (MEDIUM Stealth Check)
  • "We need reinforcements."
  • "Thank you, Samuel."
  • "I'd be glad to!"

After the meeting, Henry volunteers for a dangerous undercover mission inside Sigismund's camp.

Meet Katherine at Sigismund's Camp

Use fast travel to Opatowitz, located just northwest of Sigismund's camp. Avoid stopping in town, as it is Hostile towards Henry from the start. From there, it's a short walk southeast. There are two ways to enter the camp:

Once inside, make your way to the bathhouse in the northern section, where you'll find Katherine. If you arrive during the day, she will tell Henry to return in the evening.

Henry may run into a man named Blaha, who saw him at Nebak, and threatens to get a guard unless Henry talks to him. Players can either pay him 250 Groschen, pass a MEDIUM Intimidation check, or beat him in a fistfight to encourage his silence.

Talk to Musa of Mali

Take some time to locate Musa of Mali, a physician working under Sigismund. Speaking with Musa not only provides additional information but also lays the foundation for future alliances. He will show Henry around the camp and point out important members. The camp can be a bit of a maze, so it is helpful to get the lay of the land. Making a positive impression here is optional but highly recommended.

Enlist in Sigismund's Army

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Enlist in the Army Katherine

When evening comes, return to Katherine at the bathhouse. After a discreet conversation (and a chance to flirt, if romancing her), she advises Henry to enlist in Sigismund's forces by speaking to Stephen Crow.

Talk to Stephen Crow

Stephen Crow is one of the commander's right-hand men, so Henry must talk to him about enlisting. He hangs out at the camp's shooting range during the day or in the bathhouse in the evenings. Players will need to pass several skill checks to earn an audience with Commander Katz. They must prove to Crow that Henry will be a valuable member of their army by saying one of the following:

  • "I'm a warrior through and through." (VERY HARD Warfare check)
  • "I'm an experienced spy." (VERY HARD Stealth check)
  • "I know about herbs." (MEDIUM Alchemy check)
  • "I'm a blacksmith." (MEDIUM Craftsmanship check)

Even if players pass these, Stephen still won't be satisfied and asks Henry why he wants to join so badly. Henry can lie and say he needs money, which results in a loss of reputation, or say the following:

  • "I just want to serve King Sigismund." (HARD Speech check)
  • "I want to be an artilleryman." (VERY HARD Marksmanship check)

Find the Lost Soldiers

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Find the lost soldiers Katz

Commander Katz allows Henry to join if he does a favor for him. A group of soldiers carrying an important document has suddenly disappeared, and Henry is tasked with finding them and retrieving the document.

Talk to Musa of Mali About Myshek

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Musa Mali

One of the soldiers, Myshek, had returned but was severely wounded, so he is in the field hospital being cared for by Musa. Players can pass a HARD Alchemy check to get on Musa's good side and get more information from him. Musa tells Henry that Myshek is in a deep sleep, but a Strong Cockerel Potion can wake him up long enough to ask what happened.

Players may be able to buy one from an Alchemist at one of the surrounding towns, or they can brew some themselves. Players will need the following fresh ingredients to get the potion to a Strong quality:

  • Mint - found in community gardens and growing around people's houses.
  • Valerian - found near bodies of water such as lakes, rivers, and ponds.

The potion must be of Strong quality, or it will kill Myshek.

Myshek reveals that the soldiers betrayed the army, stealing the goods and hiding at Old Lhota, near southern Kuttenberg.

Go to Old Lhota

Players have a couple of options when they find the soldiers. Henry can talk to them and work out a deal to get the document, sneak in and steal it, or kill them all. Either way, the charter is found inside a painted chest in the upstairs sleeping area inside the main cabin. They must pick a hard lock to get inside.

If struggling with the lock, take a Quickfinger potion.

With the charter in hand, return to Commander Katz and give it to him. He will be very pleased and offer Henry a place in the army, as well as an invitation to celebrate with him and Musa for the night.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Musa Mali

As the three men hang out and share a drink, Katz challenges Henry to a game of dice. Go ahead and play to make him happy. Players will gain a positive reputation, regardless of whether they win or lose. Unfortunately, the party doesn't last for long, and a soldier rushes up to tell them something terrible has happened.

Search For Clues

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Chertan

The group rushes out to find that the Cumin commander, Chertan, has been stabbed. Musa takes him to the infirmary, and Henry is left behind with Katz. Talk to him and say the following:

  • "We have to keep this hushed up."
  • "Get some rest."

Players will then search the location of the attack for any clues about who could be responsible. Examine the following places:

  • Blood on the ground where Chertan was found
  • Washtub with blood on the side
  • Knife in front of the Washtub

Players can have Mutt sniff the knife, and he will lead them to the murderer's tent.

  • Broken lock on the artillery shed
  • Lockpick near the wagon
  • The cannon inside the artillery shed
  • The floor of the artillery shed

Players must also search Chertan's tent for clues. Pick up the key under his bed and open the chest near it. Inside, they'll find Borumlaca's Bond, which states that Grozav owed Chertan money.

Report to Katz with the findings to continue the quest. They will go to the infirmary to check on Chertan. When Henry arrives, the commander is already dead. There is a tense conversation where Musa is unfairly accused of murdering him. Players should defend him when prompted and say the following:

  • "Why would Musa do that?"
  • "The wine killed him." (HARD Alchemy check)
  • (Stand up for Musa)

They agree to hold a trial to discover the truth of the matter. Katz asks Henry to investigate the murder to find evidence that can clear Musa's name.

There are 50 Achievements/Trophies For Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Here's how to unlock them all.

Prepare For the Trial

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Chertan's Murder

Henry needs to talk to Musa to figure out how they can help him and what he knows about the murder. However, he is confined to his room with a guard standing watch, so players must attend to him first.

Get Katherine's Help With the Guard

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Chertan's Murder

Katherine can distract the guard watching Musa — but only if Henry helps her first. She has a stalker who stole one of her shoes. Use Mutt's Track Command to find the stalker, confront him, and drive him off. Afterward, Katherine will help lure the guard away.

Talk to Musa

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Chertan's Murder

It doesn't take much convincing once Katherine approaches the guard, and Henry is free to talk to Musa. Musa tells him he needs to identify the poison that killed Chertan by observing his symptoms and reading his Book of Poisons locked inside his infirmary chest.

What Poison Killed Chertan

When players examine Chertan's body, they will notice the following symptoms:

  • Spasms
  • Lesions on his hands
  • Red skin
  • Emptied his bowels

The lock on the chest is easy, so players shouldn't have any trouble opening it. When they read the book, they will see that Chertan was killed with the Kiss of Death poison based on his symptoms. Return to Musa and tell him what Henry has learned. Players will also find out that Musa isn't loyal to Sigismund if they reveal their true alliances.

Interrogate the People Involved in the Murder

Players must interrogate some of the other people involved with the murder to get more information to help Musa.

  • Pass a (HARD) Speech check to get him to confess that he and the other guard were sleeping on the job.

Guard Radovan

Officer's Camp

  • He reveals the same thing that Adalbert does if players speak to him first. Otherwise, he tells them that Adalbert is a good friend of his.

Stephen Crow

  • His story conflicts with the guards.
  • Pass a (Hard) Charisma check to get him to confess he was following Henry.

  • Pass a (VERY HARD) Charisma check or (HARD) Drinking check to get him to confess he is a gambler.

Search Musa's Tent

After interrogating everyone, Henry needs to search their tents for evidence. Start with Musa's since he is innocent. Examine the following places:

  • A vessel resting on a shelf beside his bed.
  • Precious belongings arranged on a shelf in the corner of his tent.
  • A prayer rug on the ground near the treasured items.
  • A cabinet standing nearby, stocked with healing potions.

Search Stephen Crow's Tent

Stephen's tent reveals a few suspicious finds. Examine the following places:

  • A bowl of water, fragrant with the scent of roses.
  • A stack of oak wood neatly piled nearby.
  • Loose nails scattered across a crate.
  • A stain on the ground beside the bed, sharp with the scent of urine.

Search Adalbert and Radovan's Tent

Players won't find anything useful in the guards' tent, but they can still investigate it. Examine the following places:

  • Jugs of alcohol clustered near the entrance.
  • A simple broom leaning against the opposite wall.
  • A bedroll crusted with dried vomit.
  • An empty chest, offering nothing of interest.

Search Grozav's Tent

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Search Grozav's Tent

Grozav has one interesting thing inside his tent in the Officer area. Examine the following:

  • The table by the camp's entrance, where a bit of Valerian is laid out.

Defend Musa at the Trial

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Defend Musa at Trial

Players should have a clearer image of what has happened after finding everything. Return to Commander Katz and tell him that you are ready for the trial.

Who Killed Chertan?

Stephen Crow killed Chertan based on the evidence that Henry found. Players should choose the following responses when they accuse him at the trial:

  • "Musa is innocent!"
  • "He had no reason to kill Chertan." (VERY HARD Speech check)
  • "Corporal Stephen Crow" "Chertan caught Crow stealing powder."
  • "The murder forced the ammunition store lock, so he didn't have a key."
  • "Crow poisoned the wine while Musa wasn't looking."
  • "You brewed up a poison called the Kiss of Death."

The judge will be convinced, and Stephen Crow will be sentenced to death. He will try to run, but won't get very far. There is an alternative route that players can take where they team up with Stephen Crow and frame Grozav.

Leave the Camp with the Praguers

After the trial, players will be invited to head out with Katz. Go and tell Katherine about their plan so she can report to Zizka. Henry can then tell Katz that he is ready to leave, and the commander will offer him a corporal position. The troupe will head out, and a cutscene starts.

Defeat the Praguers

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Defeat the Praguers

Zizka and his men ambush the Praguers on the road. Players will join in the fight, and once all the Praguers are dead, they can speak with Zizka. He will tell them they are ready to start the next phase of the plan and invite Henry to leave with him. If players want to loot any of the bodies, they should tell him to go ahead and meet him at the Devil's Den later.
