Summary
- A newly emerged retailer listing suggests the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 release date is February 11, 2025.
- The first-person RPG was announced in April with a 2024 release window target.
- The Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 release date might be officially announced at Gamescom 2024, which kicks off on August 21.
A potential Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 release date has leaked online in the form of two premature retailer listings, which indicate the game will hit the store shelves on February 11, 2025. This would suggest that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has suffered a small delay since its reveal.
While the game has long been confirmed to be in the works, it wasn't until April 2024 that developer Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver officially unveiled Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. On that occasion, the two companies stated that the first-person RPG was targeting a 2024 launch.
Best Buy, Walmart Listings Suggest Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Was Delayed
But that date might have been pushed back, according to a newly emerged Best Buy listing for the PS5 version of the game. The product page, first spotted by Twitter user Wario64, was recently updated with a concrete release date: February 11, 2025. The change was quickly redacted, with the page now once again labeling the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 release date as "not announced" as of the late afternoon hours ET on August 14. In the meantime, Walmart's pre-order page for the KCD2 Xbox Series X/S version has also been updated earlier today, and still lists February 11 as the game's release date as of this writing.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Release Date May Be Announced at Gamescom 2024
If this information is accurate, then it likely won't be long until Deep Silver officially confirms the delay. Namely, the publisher has already announced that the RPG will have a major presence at the 2024 edition of Gamescom, which will include a pre-show trailer on August 20, followed by over 20 minutes of additional gameplay footage on the following day. The company also promised to share more information about the game throughout the entire event, which officially runs from August 21 through 25. The German convention hence seems like an ideal venue for Deep Silver to announce the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 release date, regardless of whether the game has suffered a minor delay.
Looking at the slightly bigger picture, the notion of a Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 delay sounds well within the realm of possibility. After all, the original game suffered three major postponements prior to finally hitting the market in 2018. Even so, the Kingdom Come: Deliverance sequel is likely to avoid having an identical fate, not least because it was announced at a much later stage of development.
One positive sign for the game's chances of hitting the market soon emerged online in early August 2024, when Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 received an age rating in South Korea. Legal legwork of this sort is normally started fairly late into the publishing process, so its very existence suggests that Deep Silver isn't expecting the much-anticipated RPG to suffer any major delays.
