There are dozens of crafting materials in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to use between Alchemy and Blacksmithing. While also having to manage your carry capacity, you'll be stocking up on a lot of materials and finding places to store them throughout the game.

Some materials are much easier to come across than others, with most herbs being found throughout the world to be harvested. Other Materials don't literally grow out of the ground, but can still be found in a few set locations while also being purchased from a store; here's where to find and buy Charcoal.

Where To Buy Charcoal In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

The easiest way to get Charcoal is to buy some from a merchant. Since Charcoal has a wide range of uses, a lot of merchants in even just the first section of the game sell it. Some early game locations you can buy Charcoal are:

  • Merchant Jurg Thomel - Troskowitz
  • Apothecary Emmerich - Troskowitz
  • Blacksmith Radovan - Tachov

When buying crafting materials in bulk, it's important to maintain a good reputation wherever you can and aim to get the best price so as to not spend all your hard-earned money only on a single thing. These three merchants are only between two close-together towns, so it's easy to buy up their entire stock in just a day if you need that much. If that happens just wait a few in-game days and come back to see their stock replenished and ready to be bought again.

Thievery is the best way to get rich and earn a lot of valuable stuff in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but it requires some work to level it up.

Where To Find Charcoal In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

You'll find charcoal randomly throughout the game either on enemies or in a few chests, though early into the game there's a spot you can head to and get 50 Charcoal for free. Starting in Troskowitz, take the main road heading east. Continue on until you reach the fast-travel point for Apollonia and begin heading south past the rancher's hut.

In the forest, you'll find the Unfinished Cottage, which will be a location marked on the map. Along the back wall of the Cottage will be a locked chest, and just to the right of it will be a small bag of charcoal. Loot the bag to get 50 Charcoal for free, without stealing from anyone. Since this is a lot of charcoal to get at once, be sure to store it properly so you don't have it all sitting in your inventory and maxing out your carry capacity.
