There are a number of locked chests and keys throughout Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but not all of them are clearly connected. For example, a player might find a key but have no idea which chest or door it goes to, often forcing them to lockpick chests instead. Such is the case with the Sunken Chest key, as its name is quite misleading.
Players first need to find the Sunken Chest key, and then locate the Sunken Chest that it belongs to, with their journey starting at the crashed two-wheel cart in Trosky.
Where To Find The Sunken Chest Key For The Crashed Two-Wheel Cart In KCD2
Players first need to head east along the lake and river from Nebakov Fortress. Not far from a laundry spot, players might notice some wheel marks on the dirt road. The marks abruptly head off into the southern woods. If players follow the marks, they'll eventually come across an old, crashed, two-wheel cart.
If players have Mutt with them, then he'll start to bark and lead Henry to the cart once players are close enough to the area.
Initially, players might write this area off as just an oddity and move on, but there's more than meets the eye. Most of the items around the cart are empty. At most, players can get a bottle of Schnapps to the right of the cart.
However, if players make their way down the western bank toward the water's edge, they'll notice an old skeleton sitting on the bank. The skeleton can be easy to miss since many bushes, grass, and even trees obscure the area.
Interact with the skeleton, and players will find a Sunken Chest key.
Where To Find The Crashed Two-Wheel Cart Sunken Chest In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Finding the Sunken Chest for the Sunken Chest Key is difficult in the sense that the name of the key is misleading. To find the chest, players need to head east of the skeleton. Set beside a ditch, there's a chest sitting on a small patch of land just above the water. Players will know they've found the right chest if they see a bit of red fabric hanging on a stick beside the chest.
Now, the reason this chest is a bit confusing is that it isn't sunken at all. Considering the skeleton is right next to the water, it's simple to think that the chest is likely in the water somewhere. That isn't the case. The Sunken Chest is actually just a stone's throw from the skeleton and on solid ground.
Sunken Chest Treasure Contents
After unlocking the chest with the Sunken Chest Key in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players can find the following treasure inside:
- Hemmed hood
- Noble chaperon
- Burgher pourpoint
- Burgher's shoes
- Gartered hose
- Lion perfume
Clearly, the chest belonged to someone who had some wealth or influence. These clothes are a great starting point for anyone leading Henry down a Charismatic and Speech playthrough. The Lion Perfume, in particular, is a great bit of treasure since it can increase Charisma by 4 for four minutes.
Using another perfume while Lion Perfume is active, however, can decrease Charisma by 7.
Finding this chest and taking the treasure early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can set players up with a pretty powerful Speech-focused Henry early on. Just don't be fooled by the key's name and spend time searching through the lake for nothing.
