Killing Floor 2 is a co-op game that first came out in 2016 on Windows and PlayStation 4. It's an action-based fps somewhat similar to the popular Left 4 Dead series but not exactly. The Unreal Engine 3 title is known for its horde-based gameplay and intense survival mechanics, allowing players to express themselves with great perks.

In Killing Floor 2, players will fight multiple types of zombie-like infected called "ZEDs," and survive with great collaboration and true mastery. While the game heavily relies on cooperative six-player gameplay, it also lets players enjoy alone in a challenging single-player mode. Hence, it's always best to know what classes players should avoid and which are the best for a solo experience.

10 Demolitionist (Don't Pick)

There are a total of 10 different classes/perks in Killing Floor 2. Hence, it can be difficult for players to determine which ones are the best for singleplayer. Let's start by looking at the absolute worst classes for solo gameplay. First, there's Demolitionist, a perk about sheer horsepower and using items such as dynamite, grenades, and rockets.

Demolitionist is a pretty cool class from the looks of it and can seem good for solo play. However, the technicality involved in using this perk is a little too high for anyone who wants to enjoy a single-player game. Many players have reported that this class has become increasingly difficult to use since the latest updates and should not be used for solo play.

9 Berserker (Don't Pick)

Next is Berserker, another absolutely terrible class for a solo experience. This perk is shield-oriented; hence it is more focused on cooperative play. A Berserker player will help the squad by blocking ZEDs and tearing them apart. However, a Killing Floor game demands a lot more from players than just defense.

Berserker is also a more point-blank range kind of perk. Hence, it wants players to be up close and personal. It works in multiplayer, as the teammates are always around to support. But in single-player, ZEDs can easily surround and overwhelm a Berserker.

8 Firebug (Hardcore)

Firebug is a perk for people who want the most hardcore single-player experience in Killing Floor 2. This class is about crowd control, allowing players to spew flames and turn ZEDs into toasted bread. This perk causes the enemies to panic, hence making it easy for the squad to take them down in bulk.

Firebugs also get an assist-kill bonus when other players take the burned ZEDs down. However, things become a lot more different in a solo play scenario. Since the Firebug class has difficulty quickly killing the enemies, it requires skills, time, and a lot of ammunition to do the job, making it one of the most difficult solo-play perks in the game.

7 SWAT (Hardcore)

The other perk that makes the single-player extremely hardcore is SWAT. As the name suggests, this class is close-range based and slightly tactical, like the actual Special Weapons And Tactics force. This perk has a crazy rate of fire and is all about submachine guns.

SWAT players can easily take down smaller ZEDs and is a great class to stop enemies from swarming the squad mates. However, the quick rate of fire isn't enough to take down enemies such as Fleshpounds, Bloats, and Husks. Hence, it makes SWAT quite difficult to use as the player progress through the rounds.

6 Sharpshooter (Medium)

Killing Floor 2_0005_Sharpshooter

Sharpshooter may be the most balanced perk when playing single-player in Killing Floor 2. It's a sniper class and requires a good aim to take off heads after heads of ZEDs every round. This class has increased damage, which makes it extremely good at taking down smaller and bigger enemies.

This perk also has freeze grenades that can lock the enemies in a place for easy kills. The only few downsides of playing a Sharpshooter solo-play are ammunition and a low rate of fire. However, it's not as bad if the player knows what they're doing.

5 Survivalist (Medium)

Another medium-difficulty perk is Survivalist, which is all about the player's skill level. A player who picks this class can fill in the boots of any team member in the game and can truly be a jack of all trades. However, choosing Survivalist also means that the player needs to know what role they want to play.

Playing this perk can be somewhat hard in a solo scenario, where bad choices can mean imminent death. A Survivalist can use various weapons and is extremely versatile, which makes it a pretty fair class to use in a single player.

4 Support (Easy)

Support is one of the easier perks when players want to have a balanced single-player experience in Killing Floor 2. This class comes with various shotguns and a ballistic penetration power to easily take down ZEDs. Support players can easily hold down doorways and seal them based on their gameplay preference.

All weapons in this perk are highly penetrative, such as AA12 automatic Shotgun, HMTech-301 Shotgun, etc. The only downside of using a Support class is the lengthy reloading times and cost of ammunition. However, if the player can manage that, it's a relatively easy class to enjoy single-player.

3 Gunslinger (Easy)

Killing Floor 2_0002_Gunslinger

As the name suggests, Gunslinger is a power-house perk for people who love their guns. Players who use this class can easily take down enemies with dual-wielding pistols and weapons with a high rate of fire. Gunslinger is a great perk to use in single-player because of its serious damage and seemingly endless ammunition.

The class also has items such as Nail Bomb that help make a big impact in critical situations. While Gunslinger is more or less a great perk for a solo play, it has a minor problem in accuracy.

2 Commando (Easiest)

Now comes the time to look at the easiest classes in Killing Floor 2, especially when it comes to single-player. The Commando perk is capable of mauling through the ZEDs and seeing their health for added benefits. The vital insights in this perk are extremely useful when people are playing in multiplayer mode.

However, the amount of ammunition and rapid-firing guns make it an even better class to use in solo play. Commando class has a decent aim and weapons such as AR-15 Varmint Rifle and HE Grenade.

1 Field Medic (Easiest)

Killing Floor 2_0000_Field Medic

Field Medic is the best class for any player to use in single-player all day long. It's the most balanced perk when it comes to guns, side weapons, and healing abilities. Medics are better than any other perk for solo or team play, based on the situation. With a close to medium range, Medics are also very good at aim, and their healing grenades can come in handy when the hordes become too much to handle.

The only downside for Field Medics is the lack of hard-hitting weapons, which can make this class time-taking one to play. However, this perk has no other major flaws making it the absolute best to play solo.

Killing Floor 2 is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Linux, and Microsoft Windows.
