Shonen Jump’s Official Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia Successor Is Getting An Anime Soon

Shonen Jump has been losing one big manga after another, especially last year, with the endings of huge series My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen. The conclusion of these series was unfortunate for both the magazine and fans, as good series have become harder to come by. Thankfully, however, a new manga is rising for Shonen Jump, and it could be getting an anime soon. This series has already amassed a big fanbase and it is none other than Kagurabachi. Reportedly, Kagurabachi is getting an anime adaptation soon enough.

Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia’s Ending Left a Huge Gap in the Manga Industry

Both Series Ended Back To Back

Shonen Jump has been going through a rough time lately. After all, many of its big series have ended or are ending. The biggest examples are Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. Both of these series were some of the biggest Shonen mangas of their generations, and sadly, they both ended back-to-back. Indeed, both My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen concluded in late 2024, just a few months apart.

This left Shonen Jump in a tough spot, as these two series were some of its best sellers. Jujutsu Kaisen even surpassed One Piece in sales previously, making it even harder to let go.

Things look even worse now, as more big manga series are ending, such as Sakamoto Days and Black Clover. Shonen Jump, however, could possibly have a new hit series, and it’s none other than Kagurabachi.

Rumors Have It An Anime Is in the Works

Kagurabachi is a series that truly came out of nowhere. The series quickly gained fans, both in Japan and globally. Not many expected this manga to go as far as it did. Right now, the manga has hit over 90 chapters, which is a pretty good number, especially if there are plans to adapt it into an anime.

Indeed, while it’s all just production whispers at the moment, the chances of Kagurabachi getting an anime announcement soon are very high. This anime could be animated by none other than Cyber Agent, a studio that has animated series such as Uma Musume and The Summer Hikaru Died. This studio currently has four secret anime projects, after all. Fans definitely think Kagurabachi could be one of them.

My Hero Academia, as well as Jujutsu Kaisen, both concluded last year. My Hero Academia has 430 chapters in total, while Jujutsu Kaisen is shorter, with just 271. Both of these series can be found on Manga Plus to read.

Meanwhile, Kagurabachi is still ongoing and has about 90 chapters available at the moment, with more coming each week. The manga can also be found on Manga Plus, where it gets weekly releases.
