First, players need to head to the New York Times Games website. While there are loads of copycat Wordles out there, this one is the original. Once at the site, choose a starting Wordle word. In order to choose the best possible starting word, players should first be familiar with the rules of what the answers can and cannot be.

Wordle answers are always five letters long.
They are always real English words.
They cannot be one of the many potentially offensive words that the New York Times censored from Wordle.
Answers are usually the American spellings of words, like FIBER instead of FIBRE.
Answer are almost never plural nouns that end in S.

After choosing the best starting Wordle word, players just need to type it into the site and press enter. The letters of the word will then change color, giving players some clues as to the real answer.

Green letters are correct.
Gray letters are incorrect.
Yellow are right but in the wrong place in the word.

Players then have just five more guesses to get to the answer. Each new letter in every new word will also change color, hopefully getting the player closer and closer to the answer. Puzzles reset daily at midnight local time.
