Destiny 2 players have plenty of great checkpoint options to consider when chasing for the best endgame loot from The Desert Perpetual and other raids. Although Destiny 2 is heading into some uncharted waters after the release of The Final Shape, there's more than enough loot to acquire right now and in the future.

Destiny 2's most recent raid is The Desert Perpetual, which went live on July 19 at 10:00 a.m. PDT with its World First race. Gamers teamed up with friends and strangers alike to take on The Desert Perpetual's difficult raid bosses in Contest Mode in the first 48 hours of launch, but fun turned into controversy following the first batch of raid clears. The Destiny 2 community discovered that the majority of fireteams were cheating during the World First race, with roughly 70% of the fireteams having at least one cheater. Bungie acknowledged reports from players regarding the massive cheating incident, and many teams had their World First race runs invalidated. Now that Contest Mode and the controversy is being to settle, now is a great time for Destiny 2 players to head back into The Desert Perpetual with their friends and newcomers.

This cluster was the result of a volunteer team of raid checkpoint gatherers that compiled Twitch streams players can tune into to contact other players, queue into waiting lists for raid groups, and hop into raid encounters in Destiny 2. Typically, raids in Destiny 2 offer some of the most powerful loot in the game. However, the release of The Final Shape has changed the endgame power chase, as players can now seek Tier 5 armor from activities with Grandmaster difficulty, which requires a power level of at least 390. Limited-time events, including Destiny 2's Arms Week, could help players prepare for their next endgame excursion as well.
