Here are the rules of how to play:

Head to the New York Times Games Wordle website. This requires a device that can connect to the internet through a browser.
Choose a starting word. It should be five letters long, a real English word, not an offensive word, and it should be the American spells of words. While plural nouns that end in an S are okay for guesses, the answer will almost never be one. Using these parameters, come up with a starting five-letter word with some common letters and a couple of vowels.
Type the chosen starting Wordle word into the site.
Press enter.
The letters will change color based on whether they are correct or not.
Green are right, gray are wrong. Yellow letters are correct, but they are located in the wrong position in the word.
Given these clues try to guess the correct answer. When a new word is typed it, these letters will change color too, giving even more clues.
Continue until the word is guessed or the player runs out of the six total guesses they get to solve it.
Puzzles reset daily at midnight local time.
