In Jujutsu Kaisen, the most powerful sorcerers in the entire setting are placed within the 'Special Grade' tier. These are most broadly defined as the strongest characters in the world who can take over entire nations on their own, whether that be through their own strength or the overpowered nature of their Cursed Techniques.

One of these is Yuki Tsukumo, who, despite her fairly limited screen time, has risen to be one of the most beloved characters in the entire Jujutsu Kaisen series. The reason for her strength was her incredible technique called Star Rage, so let's take a look at how this technique works and why it's one of the strongest in the series.

What Is Star Rage And How Does It Work?

Yuki's Cursed Technique

As a Special Grade sorcerer, Yuki is automatically considered to be one of the most powerful characters in the series. On top of her amazing technique, she is incredibly adept at most applications of Cursed Energy manipulation, as she showed mastery over Simple Domain, Reverse Cursed Technique, and Domain Expansion as well.

However, her innate technique is the true reason behind her awesome strength. Essentially, Star Rage allows Yuki to add imaginary mass to herself and her Shikigami, Garuda. This is perhaps the greatest booster of pure physical power in the series, even more so than simple reinforcement through Cursed Energy, since it allows Yuki's physical attacks to become far stronger than they would be regularly.

To visualize this power, it can be said that a single punch from Yuki would hit as hard as a truck, or even harder depending on the mass she has attributed to herself. Despite this mass being added to Yuki and Garuda, both can move around effortlessly while retaining this hard-hitting power, though this does go to an extent before it starts to weigh them down.

Through these means, it can be said that Yuki's Star Rage makes her the single most physically powerful character in all of Jujutsu Kaisen, putting her physical strength even above the likes of Sukuna and Gojo, who are notoriously called the strongest characters in the series. Though their techniques and mastery over Cursed Energy makes them stronger overall, their physical power is eclipsed by that of Yuki and her Star Rage.

Star Rage Is One Of The Most Overpowered And Dangerous Techniques

A Terrifying Power

Unfortunately for many fans, there was only ever a single showing of Yuki going all-out with her powers and using them to the best of her abilities, which was in her fight against another Special Grade sorcerer, Kenjaku. Although this battle was incredible to see and definitely cemented Yuki's place as a Special Grade, she ultimately lost against the ancient villain.

Using Star Rage, Yuki brought a beating to Kenjaku that even took him by surprise. Despite his 1000+ years of experience, mastery over Cursed Energy manipulation, and multiple Cursed Techniques, Kenjaku almost met his end multiple times during this fight, and he didn't even see the extent of Yuki's powers due to her missing Domain Expansion.

6 Jujutsu Kaisen Characters Who Deserved Better Endings

Jujutsu Kaisen has shown the deaths of many beloved characters, but these few deserved much better endings than they got.

Domain Expansions are the pinnacle of Jujutsu sorcery and are a technique that only the most skilled characters can use, so it's no surprise that Yuki, being a Special Grade, can do so as well. However, she never got the chance to showcase this power, since Kenjaku had refined his own Domain to be an open-barrier type, so there was very little benefit to Yuki using hers in this fight at all since it would have just been destroyed from the outside.

However, a guess about how it works can be surmised. Seeing how Domains amplify the user's technique within a barrier that gives a sure-hit affect of the technique, Yuki's Domain could either give her the ability to apply unlimited mass to herself without any drawbacks or would allow her to do the same to her opponent with all the side effects, effectively just squishing them under all that mass like a bug. The possibilities are really cool to consider.

A Domain neutralizes all Cursed Techniques. Once trapped inside a Domain, even the great Gojo cannot avoid being hit!

However, Yuki was defeated before she could ever open her Domain. Instead, what she ended up doing may just be stronger than any Domain Expansion in the series, as she began to apply unlimited mass to herself as she was dying, far past the point where it started to become a problem for her. Eventually, this mass became a singularity of infinite density and created a Black Hole.

This Black Hole would have destroyed the entire world if it wasn't for Tengen's barrier and Yuki's own will, who only created a small one in a final effort to defeat Kenjaku. If things hadn't ended up this way, Yuki's Cursed Technique would have consumed the entire world, which definitely makes it one of the strongest techniques in history.

Jujutsu Kaisen can be streamed on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
