Jujutsu Kaisen's Culling Game arc introduced many new characters, each with their own unique personalities and move sets. Most of these characters had abilities unlike anything that the series had shown before, with some being plain goofy and weak and others being strong enough to have the potential to match even Gojo himself. Of all these characters, few stood out as much as Fumihiko Takaba.
Takaba is quite possibly the most unassuming combatant in all of Jujutsu Kaisen, with his true strength and power being hidden behind his fun-loving personality and hilarious antics. He has an extremely powerful Cursed Technique called 'The Comedian' and is said in the manga to be so strong that he could probably defeat most other sorcerers. However, the only problem is that Takaba doesn't even know how it works! So, in this article, let's break down what The Comedian does and why it's one of the strongest techniques in Jujutsu Kaisen!

Kenjaku's next body might be that of a beloved JJK character.
Takaba's Love For Comedy Shapes His Cursed Technique
As was revealed in Takaba's backstory, everything in his life revolves around his love for comedy and making people laugh, nothing more so than his Cursed Technique. The Comedian allows Takaba to effectively distort and change reality by thinking of something that he finds funny. Because of this, it allows him to manifest these funny things into reality, meaning that he can bring objects and concepts into existence where they didn't exist before.
The full extent of the power of this Cursed Technique is entirely dependent on the imagination of the user, just so long as they think what they choose to manifest or do is funny. The Comedian can allow Takaba to heal without the usage of Reverse Cursed Technique, make him stronger, completely negate all damage done to him or even conjure up entire situations or scenarios out of nowhere. If Takaba were to fight Gojo and find it funny if his Limitless Technique suddenly stopped working, it would actually do so.
Another reason why this technique is extremely effective is due to Takaba's cursed energy reserves, which are said to be extremely plentiful, as both Hazenoki and Reggie were on guard just because of how much Takaba's cursed energy started to swell up when he was only telling a joke. Other than this, he is also a very skilled hand-to-hand combatant, as his skills and strength are further bolstered by his Cursed Technique.
However, Takaba does not know how his Cursed Technique works. Despite its incredible power, The Comedian can only really work properly if Takaba remains confident in himself and his ability to remain funny, as was seen during his battle against Kenjaku where the technique stopped working when Takaba grew insecure about how funny he was. This led to him being powerless for a short time and vulnerable to Kenjaku's attacks.

Takaba's "Comedian" Cursed Technique Has Come Up Big In The Past
The Comedian is potentially the most powerful Cursed Technique in all of Jujutsu Kaisen. In his fight against Hazenoki, Takaba was seen to heal himself from the wounds inflicted on him by the formers' technique. This is an especially powerful feat as it is the only time in the entire series that someone is shown to heal themselves without the usage of Reverse Cursed Technique.
Later on in the fight, Takaba is seen to have covered himself with a very slippery sauce that leads to all of Hazenoki's punches just rolling off of him and doing no damage. However, it wasn't until his battle against Kenjaku that Takaba showed the true potential of what his Cursed Technique is capable of doing. In the fight, Kenjaku would use many powerful attacks on Takaba only for them to not affect him.
It was shown here as well that The Comedian also affects others and not only Takaba, as throughout the battle, Takaba continued to mock Kenjaku by making random pieces of clothing appear on him as well as making random words show up on his face. In the same fight, however, Kenjaku was able to show the weakness of the technique as he used his unrivaled intelligence to deduce that the technique works by what Takaba finds funny. Using this, he criticized one of Takaba's jokes and shattered his confidence for the technique to stop working.
However, Takaba reconciled with himself and regained his confidence, which showed The Comedian's strength in full display. He was able to manifest entirely new and whacky scenarios that Kenjaku was forced to be a part of. In one of these, Takaba exorcised a Special Grade Cursed Spirit very easily by running it over with a truck, showing everyone how powerful this technique is. At the end of the fight, Takaba was able to fulfill his goal of finally making Kenjaku laugh.
