Jujutsu Kaisen Is Expecting a New Movie This Year
A Jujutsu Kaisen Movie Could Set A New Record
Jujutsu Kaisen has easily been one of the biggest anime series of the last few years. Its anime has been a huge success since its first season, and its fanbase is only growing with every new season drop. The Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended late last year, in 2024, and since then, fans have only really had the animated content to look forward to. The manga itself sold incredibly well too — a proof of its massive popularity.
Although the anime season is far away, one thing many fans are definitely looking forward to is the release of the newest Jujustu Kaisen movie. This movie will cover the Hidden Inventory arc, or the arc that covers the past of the series’ most popular character, Gojo Satoru.
This movie has been highly anticipated, and will be dropping quite soon, in Japan at least. Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory Recompilation Movie is scheduled to be released in Japan on May 30, 2025. The International release should follow not too long after that, although no official dates are out yet.
This movie aside, Jujutsu Kaisen had another movie a few years back, Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was a huge success, and ranks as the 10th most successful Japanese movie of all time, which is no small feat. This is why many believe this new Jujustu Kaisen movie will also be a huge success.

This movie is heavily focused on the anime’s most popular character, Gojo, so that alone will bring many viewers to the cinemas. The plot of the Hidden Inventory arc is loved by fans far and wide. The Hidden Inventory arc movie could definitely break some records, even if just for the Jujutsu Kaisen series.
Will The New Jujutsu Kaisen Movie Surpass Jujutsu Kaisen: 0?
It Is Unlikely But Possible
The upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen movie is, sadly, just a compilation of the first half of the second anime season. In other words, there will be no new content really. It is just a condensed version of this part of the anime. That alone makes it very unlikely that it could surpass what Jujutsu Kaisen 0 achieved, which was a fresh story for anime watchers that even had its own main character.
Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one. — Gojo Satoru
However, nothing is impossible, and the fandom has definitely grown a lot since JJK 0, so this new movie could still somehow surpass it. Only time can tell.
