Jujutsu Kaisen's ongoing season initially had fans guessing all over the place. The sudden introduction of the Culling Game made it hard for fans to predict the upcoming turn of events. But as the season has continued, the story has finally taken shape. There is a clear understanding of the Culling Game, its purpose, and why it should be stopped.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Season 3 Will Have The Biggest Fights Yet
How is Jujutsu Kaisen aiming to go bigger than the Shibuya Incident? Only a huge battle royale set across the country, of course.
Hajime Kashimo
The ending scene of Season 3, Episode 6, has introduced fans to Hajime Kashimo. He has already killed 40 players, which has awarded him a total of 200 points. He also used 100 of those points to add a new rule to the game that allows players to see information about other participating players. This alone makes him someone whom Itadori and others have to be careful about.

But the most interesting part about Kashimo is that he is a reincarnated sorcerer. He claimed that everyone he has fought so far is too weak, and opponents were stronger 400 years ago. He is also looking for Sukuna, which suggests that not only does he have a history with the King of Curses, but eventually, he will also cross paths with Itadori and Sukuna.

Hiromi Higuruma
Being the only player other than Kashimo with 100 or more points has made him Itadori and Megumi's next destination. If they can make Higuruma an ally, they can use his points to add rules to the game that will save lives. As discussed in Season 3, Episode 7, Megumi and Itadori aim to safely exclude Tsumiki from the games, which will require Higuruma's points.
But knowing Higuruma has already killed at least 20 people, it is not likely that he is looking for a peaceful route. The anime's immediate future lies largely in Higuruma's decision.
Maki Zen'in
Maki has been a major recurring character since the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. Previously, we only saw her support others from the sidelines. But with the arrival of the new season, she has found greater strength and purpose. In her pursuit to retrieve cursed weapons from the Zen'in vault, she faced off against her father and lost. But Mai's sacrifice brought her back with unmatched physical strength and an iconic weapon.
She put an end to the powerful Zen'in family in a single episode and will be participating in the Culling Game. Using Dragon-Bone and Split Soul Katana, she should noticeably impact upcoming fights.
Kinji Hakari
During their discussion inside the Tombs of the Star, Okkotsu and Maki emphasized the importance of recruiting Kinji Hakari. Initially hesitant, Hakari had a change of heart because of Itadori's perseverance. He is now willingly participating in the Culling Game to aid Itadori and others. Though much is not known of his abilities, he put on quite the display of strength against Itadori. Okkotsu also suggested that Hakari could surpass him in strength.
Yuta Okkotsu
When discussing important characters, it is hard not to mention Yuta. Initially, his return scared fans because he set out to kill Itadori. But it was just a show; he is working along with Itadori and others to stop Kenjaku. As mentioned in Season 3, Episode 3, Okkotsu has joined the Culling Game already to gain information before Tsumiki and others enter a colony. He is currently acting on his own, but sooner or later, we will see him in action again.
Yuta, being one of the only four Special Grade sorcerers, assures that he will play a key role in the overall outcome of the ongoing arc. He is currently the strongest among Itadori's allies.
Megumi Fushiguro
Just like others, Megumi aims to stop Kenjaku's plans that threaten the jujutsu society. But the ongoing arc is especially important for Megumi because he is also actively trying to protect his sister, Tsumiki, from the Culling Game. He has already played a vital role in convincing Hakari to join them and has now entered a colony along with Itadori.
At the end of Episode 7, Itadori and Megumi have been led to different locations in search of Higuruma. One likely to be a lie, Megumi might fight for his life soon.
Yuji Itadori
It is no surprise that the anime's main protagonist is one of the most important characters right now. As soon as he joined the Culling Game, he was attacked by Hanyu and Haba, which he convincingly won. But just like Megumi, he might be walking into a trap while looking for Higuruma. Being Sukuna's vessel might also make him a target of reincarnated sorcerers like Hajime Kashimo.
Hana Kurusu
Arguably, the most important goal in the Culling Game for Itadori and his companions is to find the Angel. In Season 3, Episode 3, Master Tengen mentioned that among the participating players is a 1000-year-old sorcerer capable of extinguishing other cursed techniques named "Angel." Angel's cursed technique will allow her to open the Back of the Prison Realm and free Satoru Gojo.
Though the anime displayed Angel's name to the viewers, this information is still unknown to the characters. Finding her will be the most important step in this ongoing arc.
Kenjaku
The current primary antagonist and the creator of the Culling Game holds an important role in the current arc. He is responsible for sealing away Satoru Gojo and will continue to rely on any means needed to make his mission come true. He currently plans to use the Culling Game as a means to assimilate the Japanese population into Master Tengen and start the evolution of mankind.

He is also responsible for resurrecting various sorcerers from centuries ago by creating pacts with them in the past. If Itadori and others do find a way to stop the Culling Game, Kenjaku is bound to make an appearance to stop that from happening. He also has connections with Sukuna, which makes him a constant threat.
Satoru Gojo
Considered the strongest sorcerer in the anime, Gojo holds incomparable importance even after being sealed. Though he is unlikely to make a direct appearance in the anime anytime soon, the heroes' efforts to bring him back will be the focus of the story. He predicted his disappearance and made sure to put Itadori and others in Yuta's care. Once he does return, he will once again take the frontline in defending everyone against the likes of Kenjaku and Sukuna.
