This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
The strongest characters of Jujutsu Kaisen have been Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, and Gojo Satoru, humanity’s strongest. Both of these sorcerers displayed a level never seen before, and their proficiency in Jujutsu was far above human comprehension. Sukuna and Gojo had a battle of the strongest, and the former came out on top, but Sukuna later ended up dying at the hands of his own vessel, Yuji Itadori.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Yuji Itadori Left The Sorcerers, Explained
Yuji Itadori has disappeared and left the sorcerers behind. Here's why in JJK Modulo.
In the fight against Sukuna, Yuji Itadori unlocked his latent potential in this battle, but since then a lot of time has passed, and he has only grown stronger since. Right now in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, it can be said that Yuji has far surpassed the level of the likes of Sukuna. 69 years into the future, Yuji has mastered Sukuna’s own techniques, and he is truly a sorcerer worthy of being called the new strongest. So far, Yuji has so far only showcased a bit of his power as the true showcase will be against Dabura, which is going to unfold very soon in JJK Modulo.
Ryomen Sukuna Was At Peak of Jujutsu Sorcery
- Sukuna Absorbed his Twin Brother and Acquired Gigantic Cursed Energy Reserves
- Sukuna Was Born with the Perfect Body for Jujutsu Sorcery
- Sukuna’s Shrine Was an Overpowered Cursed Technique
Sukuna was known in Jujutsu Kaisen as the King of Curses, and this title was not bestowed for no reason. After all, it could be said that Ryomen Sukuna was truly at the peak of sorcery throughout his life. A lot of Sukuna’s strength is due to the circumstances around his birth. As fans know, Sukuna possesses the greatest Cursed Energy reserves in the whole series, even greater than the likes of Yuta Okkotsu or Gojo Satoru. That is due to Sukuna having absorbed his twin in the womb, granting him the cursed energy reserves of two people.
Sukuna, let's end this once and for all. I can defeat you. — Yuji Itadori, Shinjuku Showdown
Beyond that, Sukuna was also born with what could be described as the perfect body to perform Jujutsu sorcery. Sukuna was born with two mouths and four arms. This allows Sukhuna to use incantations and hand signs like no other. Even in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Gege Akutami portrayed Sukuna as the most terrifying human in a doodle based on Maru's imagination.
All that aside, Sukuna was also born with one of the most overpowered Cursed Techniques in Jujutsu Kaisen. Sukuna’s main cursed technique is known as Shrine. This technique allowed him to cut pretty much everything in his path with techniques such as Cleave and Dismantle. Sukuna could unleash destructive slashes and cataclysmic flames on his enemies. Overall, Sukuna's technique was extremely powerful and his domain expansion even more so.
Sukuna Was Surpassed by His Perfect Vessel Yuji Itadori
For a while, the only character that fans considered on the same level as Sukuna was Gojo Satoru. While their power levels can be debated, it is clear that in the end, Sukuna was the one to come out on top in their battle of the strongest. Nevertheless, in the same raid, a sorcerer rose to beat Sukuna himself, and that character is Sukuna's perfect vessel, Yuji Itadori.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Akutami Officially Gives Yuji His Biggest Power Up
Yuji has returned and is stronger than ever before with his newest power-up in JJK Modulo.
The showdown against Sukuna in Shinjuku unlocked Yuji's true potential as the former’s vessel, and he was able to use Sukuna's own techniques against him, notably Shrine but with his own twist. Instead of simple slashes, Yuji can use his attacks like a scissor snip. He can even combine this power with his ability to hit souls to create Soul Dismantles. Yuji's attack that cut through the soul is what eventually killed Sukuna, followed by a Black Flash.
I told them this would happen. Not that I said it out loud though. Piercing Blood! — Yuji Itadori, JJK Modulo Chapter 19
The Sukuna battle definitely helped Yuji grow, but now in Modulo, after 68 years, he has grown even stronger. Based on his display in JJK Modulo chapter 20, he is even stronger than Sukuna at this very moment.
Yuji Has Grown Stronger Since The Final Showdown Versus Sukuna
- Yuji’s True Strength Will Be Showcased Against Dabura
Yuji Itadori was, for quite some time in JJK, an underwhelming character that did not stand out much in a series where the likes of Gojo and Sukuna dominated. But that all changed after the fateful battle against Sukuna. 68 years into the future, Yuji has evolved into a monster.
Fans who were wondering how strong Yuji would have grown after the Sukuna battle in JJK Modulo finally got their answer in chapters 19 and 20 of the manga. In JJK Modulo Chapter 19, Yuji Itadori finally made his grand return by immediately tapping into his Blood Manipulation technique. Quite clearly, Yuji Itadori has, over the years, become the greatest Blood Manipulation user of all time, being able to use multiple Piercing Blood arrows on a whole other level.
Beyond that, Yuji's feats continued into JJK Modulo Chapter 20. Indeed, Yuji was seen using his iconic Black Flash. Usually, Black Flashes cannot be activated consciously, but Yuji has truly mastered them. Yuji was already very skilled with Black Flashes in his Sukuna battle, but he has completely mastered them in the Modulo timeline.

Yuji also made use of Sukuna's most iconic attack, and that is Dismantle. But in his case, this Dismantle was on a whole new level. Yuji's single Dismantle shot was equal to the might of Hollow Purple and Divine Flame. With those feats, Yuji has surpassed even the level of Sukuna in Modulo.
All that said, what fans have seen so far is but a hint of Yuji's true power. To showcase his full strength, Yuji will have to go all out against Dabura. Arguably, Dabura is an even bigger threat than he faced in the original series. Yuji vs Dabura will be the new battle of the strongest, and fans can't wait for them to finally engage in battle. Dabura’s light and darkness attacks, as well as the Murderous Intent Technique will not be easy to counter.
Yuji has to rise as humanity’s last hope by using Blood Manipulation, Black Flashes, and Shrine, and perhaps even showcasing his newly evolved Domain Expansion power. A Domain Expansion showdown, just like in the Gojo vs Sukuna battle, could unfold once Dabura learns how to activate it. This upcoming battle could be where Yuji Itadori meets his end and realizes his ultimate goal of dying surrounded by his loved ones — something he has failed to realize until now.
