This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has enjoyed a phenomenal run so far. The author, Gege Akutami, has done absolutely brilliantly in making the already established world of JJK even bigger and far more interesting. With a ton of focus on world-building, the JJK sequel manga has become even better. That said, one absolutely cannot forget the brilliant character writing in this story. When it comes to characters, Gege has his own style. Fans know very well that he often loves to kill off major characters and it seems that habit of his remains the same.
Better Than Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Akutami's New Manga Is The King of Next Gen Series
JJK Modulo has proven Gege's growth - it's definitely the best new gen manga at the moment.
It is already quite clear in the story that Gege Akutami has established the death of a major character in the future, and that is none other than Yuka Okkotsu. As was revealed in the last few chapters, she has a tumor in her brain that seemingly can't be treated and she only has a few months to live. To add to that, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo once again foreshadowed her death in the latest chapter.
Yuka Okkotsu Is Going To Die In JJK Modulo
Yuka Okkotsu is one of the most important characters in the JJK sequel manga. She is the granddaughter of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin, and the future inheritor of Rika. Fans know her to be an absolutely incredible character, which is why it is such a shame that Gege has marked her for death already. She has a tumor in her brain that cannot be treated, potentially even with RCT. Why that is the case remains to be seen.
I have a tumor in my brain, so I don't have long left to live. But I don't want pity. — Yuka Okkotsu
However, for now, it is safe to assume that she is on course to die. Other than Cross, nobody in the whole series knows this, not even her own brother. Even though she's one of the two main characters of the series, she could very well end up dying, and this is because of the fact that Gege Akutami doesn't shy away from killing main characters. He has already shown this in the past, and he could show this once again as the story of JJK Modulo grows more intense.
Gege Has Already Revealed The Reason For Her Death
The reason for Yuka's death is quite simple. In the context of the story itself, it is the fact that she has a brain tumor. However, looking at the wider picture, it is because the author wants to add more tension to the story and make the plotline more gripping. It is hard to argue with the fact that JJK's most intense moments came when the likes of Nanami died, or when fans thought Nobara had died.
I want to be just like Grandpa Yuta. — Yuka Okkotsu
Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege Akutami Kills Off Two Major JJK Characters In The Sequel
JJK just killed off two major characters, and fans are shocked.
Gojo's death set the perfect stage for the final battle in JJK. Gege Akutami could be doing something similar with Yuka Okkotsu, and in the grand scheme of things, her death could be used to bring the two races of Simurians and humans together.
Yuka, Maru, And Tsurugi Could Be On Opposing Ends
In JJK Modulo Chapter 12, Gege Akutami quite clearly showed Maru, Yuka, and Tsurugi going different ways. As Yuka goes west, it implies that she's crossing over to the other world. Maru goes east, while Tsurugi grows north, which is where he will undergo a great change. Little do they know that the conflict between humans and Simurians is going to change them forever.
Maru will not be the same person after realising that his brother was shot through the heart by humans, and similarly, Tsurugi will have no choice but to fight against the aliens, even if it means going against his own family.
Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, runs in the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 13 will be released on November 30, 2025. The release time of the chapter is midnight JST, or 11:00 AM ET (8:00 AM PT). Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
