When the successor to Jujutsu Kaisen was announced, fans of the franchise got incredibly excited to see the state of the world and Jujutsu in general after the events of the original series. In Modulo, everyone saw a brand-new perspective on this beloved world and the broader universe beyond it, since aliens were introduced.

This was an incredible addition to the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, as it shows powerful new sorcerers with exceptional new techniques. Among them is Dabura, who is known as the strongest of the entire Simurian race and may have just been confirmed as the fastest sorcerer in the entire series, so let's take a look at why this is.

Although the Culling Game had some of the strongest characters in the series, there were some abysmal Cursed Techniques as well.

Dabura's Cursed Technique And Unmatched Speed

The Strongest Simurian

  • The reason for his speed.

From the start of Modulo, Dabura was always portrayed as the one to watch out for. His strength was repeatedly hinted as being on the level of the greatest sorcerers in the entire series, with everyone calling him a Sukuna-level threat, likening him as the only other character on the same level as Sukuna and Gojo.

Naturally, fans were very curious about what his Cursed Technique could be which allowed him to boast such incredible power, which was eventually revealed to be '(...)' and 'Light'. Light presumably allows him to control every facet of light itself to be used as powerful physical projectiles that can incinerate everything in front of them.

I can't show you anything without an opponent. And unless they're truly worthy, it will be over before they can even see a thing.

He put this technique to full use against Mahoraga, repreatedly dealing an incredible amount of damage to the legendary Shikigami by blowing off entire limbs and even trapping him under a prison of bars of light. Although Dabura undoubtedly had the upper hand at the initial stages of the fight, he had no way to instantly kill Mahoraga like Sukuna and Gojo did, allowing the Shikigami to adapt to his Light technique and deal incredible damage.

Towards the end of Chapter 18, fans saw Dabura in a sorry state as he had been pushed to the brink like never before. However, here, he found resolve by fighting to protect his people, with the chapter ending with a note that talks about Dabura fighting near the speed of light.

The dance of Dabura Karaba... Near the speed of light, beyond the limits of humanity!

This means that, in the subsequent chapters, fans will likely get to see a sorcerer even faster than the legendary Sukuna and Gojo, which would definitely reinforce his place among them. With Sukuna and Gojo being the strongest and fastest characters in the history of the franchise, seeing someone with even greater speed would be a real treat.

With the ability to manipulate light, many fans were under the impression that Dabura could already move this fast, but his body had never been able to adapt until now. The subsequent chapters of Modulo are set to be amazing as they will likely bring the fights between Yuki and Dabura, as well as the one between Tsurugi and Maru, to a close.

Chapter 17, "Chaos and Harmony"

Towards the start of the Modulo story, the biggest theme was the possibility of coexistence between humans and Simurians, who had lost their home in a civil war. Although things were looking good for a time, a terrible misunderstanding led to Maru's brother, Cross, getting shot and put in a comatose state.

Because of this, the real conflict started, where the humans and Simurians were set to battle to see who would get to call Earth their home. In the absence of Yuji Itadori, the humans had to use their strongest sorcerer, Yuka Okkotsu, to battle Dabura, which she did by awakening her legendary Ten Shadows Cursed Technique and immediately summoning the deadly Mahoraga.

Simultaneously, Tsurugi and Maru would fight as well on the side for the same reason. Here, Tsurugi's Heavenly Restriction proved to be far inferior to Maru's incredible Cursed Technique, which seemed to turn the entire world on its head. In order to tackle this foe properly, Tsurugi awakened Rika through Yuta's ring and proceeded to overpower his foe.

Both of these fights see the Okkotsu siblings take on the most powerful Simurians with the help of some of the most powerful entities in the entire Jujutsu Kaisen franchise. As for the Simurians themselves, the story is in quite a tricky place since it shows that, despite Dabura and Maru seemingly being cornered, they both have something greater up their sleeves.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Every Student of Satoru Gojo, Ranked

Gojo has taught many notable Jujutsu sorcerers, so let's rank them from weakest to strongest.

Despite almost dying against Mahoraga, Dabura finally found his resolve and is set to become the fastest sorcerer ever, even more than Sukuna and Gojo. Moreover, many believe that his hidden '(...)' technique, which is defined as murderous intent given tangible form, will be the ultimate technique that he uses to one-shot the Shikigami, though it's very possible that this has just been part of his kit that he has been using in the fight thus far.

As for Maru, the end of Chapter 18 showed him finally being bested by Tsurugi and Rika, forcing him to show a new kind of power that he had never done before, which sprouted a forest and many vines around him. Though this is undoubtedly a prelude to a greater power that he possesses, many have taken it to be an Open Domain, though this is highly unlikely.

Jujutsu Kaisen can be streamed on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
