Given that Modulo is set 68 years after the Sukuna battle, fans aren’t surprised that many of JJK’s beloved characters have already died. Some deaths are heavily implied, while others are outright confirmed by the narrator or other characters. Either way, Modulo probably has even more heartbreak in store for fans of the original cast.

Megumi Fushiguro

Megumi Fushiguro was a character that many were really looking forward to seeing in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. After all, fans got to see a glimpse of the other two of the main trio, Yuji and Nobara. Yuji has stopped aging entirely and has somehow vanished, while Nobara is now an old lady. Nevertheless, they’re both alive.

Megumi, however, might be dead. While it’s only strongly implied, the fact that he hasn’t shown up in JJK Modulo during the Yuji search, and the fact that Yuka Okkotsu is the new user of Ten Shadows, his own technique, strongly suggests he’s dead.

Hana Kurusu

Hana Kurusu was definitely one interesting character from the original Jujutsu Kaisen series. While she wasn’t the most important character, she still had some good moments against Sukuna. Nevertheless, her death was confirmed recently in Jujutusu Kaisen Modulo by Nobara.

When asked about Yuji, Nobara mentioned that she hasn’t seen him since Hana Kurusu’s funeral. This cements that Hana did indeed die a while ago. There are also some implications of her having married Megumi, but whether that’s true or not remains to be confirmed.

Mei Mei

Mei Mei was a Grade 1 sorcerer in the original Jujutsu Kaisen. While a strong sorcerer, Mei Mei was definitely not a great person, even though she sometimes helped the main cast. Mei Mei took control of the New Shadow Style School at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen, but not much is known about her fate until Modulo.

In Modulo, fans see Ui Ui, her younger brother as the leader of the New Shadow Style School. This appearance strongly implies that Mei Mei has already died. In addition, Mei Mei would be nearly a 100 years old in Modulo, so her death would surprise nobody. Nevertheless, Ui Ui took over after Mei Mei, and has started a new cycle.

Maki Zenin

Maki Zenin was the first confirmed death from the old cast in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. Maki’s death was confirmed in the very first chapter, and it left fans very saddened and shocked. If there’s one character fans expected to live to be a lot older than most characters, it was definitely Maki.

After all, Maki is a superhuman and has superior resistance to things such as diseases. Her being one of the first to die wasn’t something many anticipated. The circumstances around her death remain a mystery, but many assume it was just a normal death. Maki’s death left many heartbroken in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. Her death even killed Yuta from heartbreak, and her grandchildren, especially Tsurugi, were deeply affected.

Yuta Okkotsu

Yuta Okkotsu is the second Modulo character whose death was confirmed in the very first chapter of the series. Following the events of JJK, Yuta went on to lead the Gojo clan. He also married his high school sweetheart, Maki Zenin. With her, Yuta had one kid, named Iori Okkotsu, and they also had two grandchildren.

Yuta was doing great, but he ended up dying from heartbreak. Maki’s death impacted him greatly, especially as someone whose powers revolved around love. With his death, he passed on his ring to his granddaughter, Yuka Okkotsu.

Gojo Satoru

If there’s one death that has completely flipped the Jujutsu Kaisen story around, it’s definitely that of Gojo Satoru. Gojo Satoru died during the final battle against Sukuna in the original JJK manga.

Gojo was sliced in half after letting his guard down, and fans have yet to recover from the shock of seeing him gone. On that day, humanity lost its strongest. Had Gojo survived this battle, he could’ve been in Modulo in his 90s. Humanity would have definitely been lucky to have Gojo against the threat of Dabura.
