Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 23 is just around the corner, and it is quite clear to see already that the story is now edging closer to the end. In the previous chapter of the story, Maru and Yuji finally met in the realm that exists between life and death. There, they confronted the threat of Mahito and eventually took the power of Idle Transfiguration from him. Along with this power, the purest Mul that Maru had, and the ring of Yuta Okkotsu were collected as well. All things utilized together would allow them to end cursed spirits forever.
JJK Modulo chapter 23 is going to pick up right from here and lead into a new world where cursed spirits do not exist. At the same time, the series is also likely going to throw some light on the battle between Dabura and Mahoraga, which has been going on for quite some time now. Given that Dabura has expanded his domain already, this fight should be nearing its end and JJK Modulo chapter 23 might be where it ends once and for all.
Yuji And Maru Figure Out A Solution To Vengeful Spirits
Vengeful Spirits Could Still Exist In The JJK World
Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo chapter 23 is most definitely going to throw a lot of focus on the eradication of cursed spirits completely. In the previous chapter, the basis of the plan to erase cursed spirits forever was established. Two ways existed for Maru and Yuji to get rid of cursed spirits forever.
- The first one would require all Japanese people to be rid of cursed energy once and for all.
- The second way would require all Japanese people to be turned into sorcerers and learn to optimize cursed energy.
Yuji Itadori decided to pursue the first option, that is, to remove cursed energy from all sorcerers. Maru made it clear that he would not remove Cursed Energy from any existing sorcerers, but from the non-sorcerers and the future generations of Simurians. Quite clearly, the plan was moving very well, but then Yuji Itadori dropped the bomb by stating that even removing Cursed Energy entirely from all those in Japan would not get rid of Cursed Spirits completely.

At the moment, this was quite confusing, but JJK Modulo chapter 23 is going to explain why that is the case. The reason should be quite simple and it is Vengeful Spirits. As established in the original series, Vengeful Spirits exist after someone is killed without the usage of cursed energy, they can hold on to negative feelings and return as cursed spirits in search of vengeance and, as such, be born as a vengeful spirit. Naoya Zenin was the prime example of this. Maki left him at death's door and he was eventually stabbed in the back, which led to his elimination, but he returned as a vengeful spirit not too long after.
If cursed energy is removed from just about everyone and some, such as the Simurians and the human sorcerers would still hold on to cursed energy, then their deaths could potentially allow for vengeful spirits to be born in Japan and that would be a problem. At the same time, there are also some outside of Japan that bear cursed energy. As such, they could still lead to the creation of cursed spirits elsewhere.
The complete elimination of Cursed Spirits has not been achieved yet, and more steps need to be taken in that regard. Perhaps Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 23 will see Yuji Itadori and Maru build a completely new strategy to get rid of them once and for all.
Maru Will Finally Use Idle Transfiguration On Japan in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Chapter 23
The Endgame Of JJK Modulo Begins
If Maru and Yuji come up with a strategy to completely end cursed spirits, then JJK Modulo Chapter 23 will see the former utilize Idle Transfiguration on the entirety of Japan. This moment is now slowly in the making and should happen in any chapter.
Maru has more than enough cursed energy to pull something like this off, and that is down to Yuta Okkotsu's energy. By using the ring as a basis and the Mul that exists with him, Maru can cast Idle Transfiguration on everyone in Japan, which includes both the Simurians and the humans. Then, cursed energy will be stripped from them in a way that cursed spirits are not going to be born again. This would mark the true ending phase of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, as has been made clear already.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo was always going to be a short release of around three volumes. Now, this short release is coming to an end, and removing cursed energy once and for all and solving one of the biggest problems in Japan would be the perfect way to wrap it up. This would also allow humans and Simurians to join hands and live together in harmony from here onwards.
Dabura Vs Mahoraga Will Officially End In JJK Modulo Chapter 23
The Biggest Battle Of Jujutsu Kaisen Sequel
While the last chapter of the manga did not show the battle between Dabura and Mahoraga progressing, JJK Modulo Chapter 23 might do just that. As is clear already, Dabura has expanded his domain and Mahoraga is currently still trying to adapt to Dabura's existence inside. This battle can only go in two ways from here onwards. Either Dabura gets rid of Mahoraga in a single shot in the upcoming chapter, or Maru and Yuji decide to remove Cursed Energy altogether from all people in Japan, including the current sorcerers. If that is the case, then Mahoraga would immediately cease to exist and Dabura would also lose his Cursed Energy as well. This would basically end the battle once and for all, and also save the life of Yuka Okkotsu. In either case, JJK Modulo Chapter 23 could very well be the one that ends this extremely exciting battle.
At this point, the focus of the story is not the fights. Instead, the focus is on collaboration and living side by side with your neighbors. Gege Akutami has created an absolutely brilliant story in JJK Modulo, which is arguably even better than the original series. It is easily one of the best parts of the entirety of JJK, if not the best outright. With just a few more chapters left, fans can only hope to continue to enjoy this brilliant release for whatever time is left. Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Chapter 23 will feature a colorspread, as will the next two chapters, due to the immense popularity of this series in Japan. Whether it will continue beyond these three chapters or not remains to be seen, but in either case, the future looks incredibly bright for the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise.
