Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is already in its climax at the moment, and Chapter 23 hammered home that fact better than any other chapter that came before it. The series was always going to be a short serialization by Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki, but quite a few fans held on to the hope that Gege would continue it and make it a longer story. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case, because the latest chapter of the manga has officially marked the beginning of the end for this series.

The biggest conflicts of this short storyline are officially wrapping up, and a new age is about to begin in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, with major characters like Yuji Itadori and Maru being involved in the story. Jujutsu Kaisen is now finally wrapping up what could be its very last project. Previously, Jujutsu Kaisen focused heavily on the removal of cursed energy from all sorcerers in Japan. This plan has now taken a slight shift, and Yuji Itadori is primarily responsible for it.

The Plan To End Cursed Spirits Changes

Plan End Cursed Spirits Changes jujutsu kaisen modulo

It was previously established in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo that two ways existed for cursed spirits to not be born again. The first was to simply eliminate cursed energy from all sorcerers in Japan. In that case, there would not be any leakage of cursed energy, and as such, cursed spirits would not come into existence. The second was to make every human in Japan into a sorcerer, and that way, learn to optimize the cursed energy. Once again, this would limit the leakage of cursed energy and prevent cursed spirits from coming into existence.

But now, Yuji has pointed out the flaws of both these plans and has come up with something completely different altogether. It appears that neither of the two methods is good enough to completely eradicate cursed energy. Instead, Yuji Itadori has decided to limit cursed energy as much as possible in the sorcerers, and for Maru to use his technique to change the color of Cursed Spirits’ souls in Japan so as to differentiate them from the Kalyans. If this were to be achieved, then the problem between the people of Rumel and the people of Earth would essentially be solved.

I interrupted your duel, I feel ashamed. — Maru, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo

Cursed Spirits and Kalyans are no longer going to be seen as a single entity, and at the same time, the number of cursed spirits being born every year would drop drastically. This would also mean that the next generation of sorcerers will get to keep their cursed energy and the potential that comes with cursed energy will not be sacrificed either. Still, this plan is only on paper at the moment, and it still needs to be pulled off. For now, Maru has only begun the process of changing the souls of the Cursed Spirits, and a lot still needs to come in the course of the last two chapters.

Dabura Vs Mahoraga Ends In A Anticlimactic Manner

Dabura Vs Mahoraga Ends Anticlimactic jujutsu kaisen modulo

One of the most exciting things that fans were excited to see in JJK Modulo Chapter 23 was the battle between Dabura and Mahoraga. With Dabura having expanded his domain, things were looking very exciting as he was on track to finish off Mahoraga for good. Unfortunately, this never materialized into anything due to Maru’s cursed technique. Just as he did with Yuji Itadori, he called Dabura into his technique.

Maru interrupted a duel between the two warriors which shows great signs of character development for him, but at the same time takes away the enjoyment that the fans could have gotten from the battle between those two monsters. Now, Dabura is not going to fight in the story any longer because he has officially left Earth. The chapter was also quite chaotic in the sense that Dabura somehow travelled to Africa and received the black rope, which was said to have been destroyed previously. With this black rope, he was able to get rid of the curse placed on his sister, and now these two are not bound to staying away from the planet of Simuria any longer.

Don't you have to do something that only you can do? — Maru to Yuji Itadori

They are officially set to return home, which means that JJK has now officially bid farewell to its most interesting new character. Sad as it might have been, Dabura's battle against Mahoraga was still quite fun for fans to witness, but it is unfortunate that a conclusion was not delivered. Still, there is hope that the upcoming two chapters of JJK Modulo are going to take the fans into the past and give a proper glimpse of how this fight was actually interrupted, and what became of Yuka Okkotsu, Dabura, and how Yuji Itadori was involved in all of it.

Maru And Yuji Bring About A Great Change

The Great Change Finally Begins

Maru Yuji Great Change jujutsu kaisen modulo

While Maru and Yuji Itadori spent the vast majority of the time together in the last two chapters of JJK, the job to eventually pull off a great change in Earth using Idle Transfiguration was pulled off solely by Maru himself. Yuji Itadori had already left by that point, and the reason for that was that he believed that he needed to take care of something that only he could do. This could have something to do with saving the life of Yuka Okkotsu, or destroying Mahoraga in battle. Gege Akutami needs to elaborate on this in the upcoming chapter because, as things stand, JJK Module Chapter 23 ended things on a rather confusing note.

To top things off, fans got to see Maru utilize the power of his cursed technique to bring about harmony between the races of the Rumelians and the humans. Using his cursed technique and combining the powers of Mahito with it, Maru was able to change the colors of the souls of cursed spirits on a large scale and, at the same time, limit the amount of cursed energy in humans and Rumelians significantly. Still, this plan has not yet been completed, which means that a lot could still go wrong over the course of the next two chapters.

  • Fans will have to keep a keen eye on how Gege Akutami develops the plot because, as things stand, it already seems like the series has received a perfect conclusion, and two more chapters are not needed. It must also be remembered that Gege Akutami recently stated that he wants to continue drawing manga for the foreseeable future. In that sense, perhaps a new JJK sequel will be set up here. For now, all fans can do is wait for the next chapter to drop because, at the moment, things seem rather confusing in Jujutsu Kaisen.

It goes without saying that this chapter left a sour taste in the mouths of fans because after all the buildup, the payoff certainly did not seem like it was enough. Hopefully, the next two chapters will be better and will go on to mend the issues created by JJK Modulo Chapter 23. All in all, the chapter led the fans exactly to where they wanted to be, but a lot was skipped, likely due to JJK Modulo being a short serialization.
