For years, fans have been waiting to watch the arc being animated, and now, it's only a matter of weeks before they get to see what MAPPA has conjured. One thing that was made clear prior to season 3's release was Yuta Okkotsu's role.

The sorcerer appeared towards the end of the second season, and it seemed that he had been sent to eliminate Itadori Yuji. Based on his dialogue, it was clear that Yuta wasn't planning to hold back, meaning Yuji was in trouble. Yuta has already been heavily involved in JJK Season 3, and in the latest episode, he made a rather controversial statement.
Yuta Okkotsu Called Kinji Hakari Stronger Than Him
In JJK Season 3 Episode 3, Yuta and the rest of the heroes talked to Tengen about a lot of things, including Kenjaku, the Culling Game, and Gojo Satoru. Once the discussion neared its conclusion, the heroes decided to form teams to tackle different problems at the same time, which would expedite the process. At one point, Maki asked Yuta to look for Kinji Hakari, another student from Jujutsu High. Yuji did not know about Kinji Hakari, so he asked his seniors. Shockingly, Yuta responded that Kinji Hakari was a third-year student at Jujutsu High who was stronger than him.
Currently, most fans do not know about Kinji Hakari, so they don't know what to make of Yuta's statement, especially since the latter is heralded by many as the strongest sorcerer after Gojo Satoru. To ease the confusion, it's time to delve into Kinji Hakari's strengths and weaknesses. Once everything is laid out in the open, viewers will have a much easier time deciding whether Kinji Hakari is more powerful than Yuta Okkotsu or not.

Before talking about Hakari's abilities, it is worth mentioning that he is currently suspended from Jujutsu High. Like many students and teachers, Hakari does not agree with the higher-ups at Jujutsu High, which led to him clashing with the authorities. As a result, Hakari was suspended from school. As a result, he got the freedom to run a fight club, where people compete in combat for money.
When it comes to combat prowess, Hakari is easily one of the most powerful sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen. In fact, his strength has been complimented by the likes of Gojo Satoru and Yuta Okkotsu. Gojo Satoru openly stated that Hakari, along with Yuta, has the potential to rival him. Hakari is elite at hand-to-hand combat, making it extremely difficult to overwhelm him in close quarters.
Moving on to battle intelligence, Hakari is fantastic at reading his opponents. Due to years of fighting, he has developed a knack for coming up with strategies on the spot. If he is unsure about his opponent's strength, Hakari tries to bait them into an attack, and after discerning their ability, he comes up with a countermeasure.
Hakari's cursed energy is deemed to have a certain "edge," which causes even blunt attacks to leave sharp pain. This trait gives Hakari a major advantage in combat, as he can use it to get the better of his opponents easily. Hakari also has a Domain Expansion called Idle Death Gamble and an innate cursed technique called Private Pure Love Train. In combat, Hakari uses the two abilities in conjunction, but they're reserved for battling top-tier fighters.
Is Hakari Really Stronger Than Yuta Okkotsu?

To put it succinctly, Kinji Hakari is not stronger than Yuta Okkotsu. The latter was most likely being respectful towards his fellow student. Even Maki corrected Yuta when he made the comment. Yuta has far greater cursed energy than Hakari. In fact, he has more reserves than Gojo Satoru. Yuta also has the ability to copy the techniques of his opponents, which makes it even more difficult to beat him. As the third season goes on, the difference between their power levels will become even more apparent.
