This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is getting more interesting with each passing chapter, and just by looking at the way that Gege Akutami has handled the first few chapters, it's already clear to see that this series is going to be incredibly good moving forward. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo introduced aliens right at the very beginning, and it goes without saying that when he did that, fans were a bit skeptical about the direction that the story was taking. Introducing aliens in a story that doesn't consist of them from the beginning is always a gamble, so fans were rightly unsure about what to make of it.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo Satoru's Return Has Officially Been Confirmed In The Upcoming Project
Gojo is returning to JJK, and fans are excited.
Now, however, having given the story a chance, it is safe to say that Gege Akutami has absolutely nailed the delivery in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. The alien race of Modulo, called Simurians, are a core part of the story, and they're not just a race that's out to conquer the earth or to kill for the sake of it. The fact is that the Simurians are more complex than that, and they come with their own culture, their own problems, as well as motivations. Gege Akutami has finally explained the Simurian race to the fans properly, and the world-building is already turning out to be phenomenal in Modulo.
The Simurians Are Made Up Of Rumelians And Deskunte
- Rumelians And Deskunte Had Tension
- Their Home Was Eventually Wiped Out
In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 8, fans finally found out the past of Maru and Cross. Prior to this chapter, what most of the fans knew about the Simurians was that they had no home, and that they went to Earth with the goal of coexistence with humankind. However, if coexistence wasn't possible and war erupted, then they'd make space for themselves by force.
In order for true co-existence to become a reality, we need love in our hearts. — Dura to Maru and Cross
At their core, the Simurians were introduced as villains in Modulo, and fans were quite quick to point that out. Now, however, the story is focusing on why the Simurians are the way they are, what their culture is like, where they're from, and what tragedy befell them. Needless to say, it's all fascinating.
Maru and Cross grew up in a deeply traumatic society of Rumelians, the race they belong to. The Rumelians are people with horizontal eyes on their foreheads and facial tattoos. On their planet, the Rumelians. Their own village was completely razed by the Government and no amount of resistance did anything. Eventually, the two were taken in by Dura, a very powerful Rumelian who was rather intrigued by the idea of coexistence with the ones who pushed them to the edge of nowhere, the Deskunte tribe.
In the middle of nowhere, Dura wanted to make a canal for the purpose of irrigation, travel, and trade. Needless to say, he had a lot of opposition at first due to the Deskunte being seen as enemies, but eventually, Dura succeeded. With goals of coexistence, Dura raised Maru and Cross, and eventually, even the Deskunte came to coexist with them.
Get Ready For The Return Of Yuji Itadori In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
Yuji is making a grand comeback in JJK, and very soon.
What do you know about what the word neighbor means to us anyway? — Cross to Tsurugi and Yuka
As far as the Deskunte go, they're the race with horns and a vertical eye on their foreheads. In essence, the Simurians' alien group is made up of two tribes, and they're the Rumelians and the Deskunte. There are also Kalyans, which are beasts that, for some reason, only tolerate the Rumelians, but whether any of them make up the 50,000 Simurians that are seeking a home remains to be seen.
A Bigger Threat Wiped Out Their Home Planet
The Rumelians And Deskunte Have Stuck Together Since
While JJK Modulo Chapter 8 showed the fans that the conflict between Rumelians and Deskunte continued to grow, the fact is that eventually, they faced a man-made disaster that wiped out their home. Tragedy struck and right now, somehow, the Rumelians and Deskunte are together, represented as a united group of Simurians, with a Deskunte, Dabura, leading them.
