Geto’s Voice Actor Speaks About the New Movie’s Jujutsu Stroll
The Movie’s Jujutsu Stroll Will be Very Tragic
Many fans of Jujutsu Kaisen are anticipating the newest movie for the series, which retells the events of the first part of the second season, covering the arc known as Hidden Inventory/Premature Death. In Japan, this movie has already dropped, while for international fans, this could take some time.
The arc covered by this movie is very special, as it goes over the backstory of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most popular character, Gojo Satoru. This arc is very tragic, and fans who have already watched the second season or read the manga will already know why.
This new movie doesn’t exactly bring anything new, as it’s mostly a compilation for the second season. But, the voice actor of Geto has revealed something quite interesting. Geto’s voice actor, Takahiro Sakurai, has recently been interviewed by Gamer.
In this interview, Takahiro Sakurai speaks about the new movie, and the addition of a Jujutsu Stroll at the end of the movie is revealed. For fans who don’t know, a Jujutsu Stroll is a mini-sequence at the end of some episodes, usually humorous and light-hearted. Takahiro Sakurai, however, reveals this Jujutsu Stroll will be quite tragic and very emotional to watch. This is what Takahiro had to say when asked about this Jujutsu Stroll:
“Q: There are no newly recorded scenes in the main story, but a new mini-anime, "Juju Stroll: The Movie Compilation," will be inserted.
Takahiro Sakurai: That was also unfair! It showed Gojo, Geto, and Shoko watching a movie, and although it wasn't shown in the film, it was like peeking into a moment in their youth, thinking "There must have been a day when the three of them watched a movie together like this"... I thought the production team was really cruel for creating such an emotional scene (laughs).
But that's exactly why the main story stands out. I felt that the way they were sitting, including the relative positions of the three of them, really captured their individuality.”
Fans who love the trio of Gojo, Geto, and Shoko certainly felt like this was a gut punch, but at the same time, it only enhances their bonds even more. After all, the bittersweet emotions it brings allows fans to connect deeply with the characters.
