Jujutsu Kaisen's last arc, Shinjuku Showdown, was one of the intense parts of the story, filled with exciting twists and turns, and above all, a proper showing of the strongest in the story. Both Gojo and Sukuna were heavily involved in the Shinjuku Showdown, although in different ways.

While Gojo's showing wasn't as elaborate as Sukuna's, fans know that these two are the strongest in their world, and most certainly on the same level. However, there exist sorcerers in JJK who can go even beyond, if their powers and abilities are to be taken into consideration, and Gege has already introduced one such character before the story wrapped up.

Gojo and Sukuna's Overall Power Level In JJK Was The Highest

  • Gojo Matched Sukuna Blow For Blow
  • Sukuna Won Their Battle Due To Luck

Gojo and Sukuna are, undoubtedly, two absolutely massive monsters in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. Fans know them to hold tremendous power, and this was evident right from the beginning of the series. Both of them showed a glimpse of their power to the fans in the initial parts of the story, but it wasn't until the very last arc that their powers were properly displayed. Fans saw Gojo go all-out vs Sukuna, and it was an absolutely amazing clash that gave everyone a proper look at the immense strength of these monsters. At some points, Gojo took the upper hand in the battle, while some others saw Sukuna dominate. In general, however, Gojo was fighting with a handicap due to Sukuna having two cursed techniques and access to the likes of Mahoraga, and even the fusion beast Agito.

Even then, Gojo dominated the battle at times, especially towards the end, and had Sukuna in the palm of his hand. Only, it was here that Gojo lowered his guard and paid with his life. Logically speaking, this didn't make much sense, but taking Gojo out of the story at this point was important for the plot to move forward, and that is precisely what Gege did. With the fans having seen a glimpse of the best, it was hard to imagine anyone coming close to them in terms of power, but there is one sorcerer who could not only match them, but go far beyond.

Gege proves, yet again, that Gojo is the strongest JJK character. Stronger than even Sukuna.

Why Takaba Could've Surpassed Gojo and Sukuna

Takaba Has The Most Broken Cursed Technique

If there is one sorcerer in JJK who could've surpassed both Gojo and Sukuna, it is Takaba. Fans know him to be a rather weird sorcerer due to his comedic nature, but that is exactly where his true powers lie. Takaba has the power of Comedian, which is a deadly cursed technique. Simply put, this cursed technique allows him to turn anything he thinks would be funny into reality, and there are no limiters on this power. From reviving someone to avoiding death, to changing fate, all the way to bending the laws of physics, this cursed technique can do it all, and it is far stronger than Gojo's Limitless or Sukuna's Shrine.

How Takaba Failed To Surpass Them

With power as broken as Comedian, one would think Takaba would surpass everyone, but Gege confirmed that his biggest limiter is the fact that he is Takaba. He doesn't know much about his powers and he doesn't care. All he cares about is Comedy.

Q: How broken is Comedian (超人, lit. Superhuman), couldn’t he save progress and then restart like a game?

A: It's not as broken as that since Takaba is the one using it.

Had Takaba ever realized the true power of his cursed technique, he would've beaten everyone in the story and become the strongest, but of course, the story wouldn't have been as interesting.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s last chapter, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
