Jujutsu Kaisen ended last year after the conclusion of the Shinjuku Showdown arc of the manga and, needless to say, the fans were utterly devastated by the end of the story. However, they'd be delighted to know that Gege Akutami is officially back. Last week, it was revealed to the fans that Gege Akutami was officially returning to Jump with his new manga, which he would only write. The new manga, called Modulo, is illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki. Little did fans know that this manga would be connected to Jujutsu Kaisen.

Earlier today, it was officially confirmed that Gege Akutami's new manga is actually a Jujutsu Kaisen sequel, and that the story is set in the same world, years after the events of Shinjuku Showdown. Naturally, fans are wondering what happened to their favorite characters over the years, and, since the story is set decades after the end of the battle against Sukuna, it is only logical to ask what official couples Gege went with. It has now been confirmed by Gege Akutami that Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin eventually got married.

Fans were already strongly adamant that Yuta and Maki would end up together after the events of the Shinjuku Showdown arc of Jujutsu Kaisen. Unfortunately, even though the one-shot strongly implied that that was the case, fans didn't truly have a confirmation from the author. The new Jujutsu Kaisen sequel manga, titled Jujutsu Kaisen 3 Modulo, officially goes on to confirms that Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin did eventually end up together. In fact, Gege explicitly states in his story that they got married, which is huge for the story moving forward, as well as the fans of these two characters.

What's sad, however, is that fans didn't really get to see them much in the new manga. This is because Maki Zenin died quite early from unknown circumstances. Meanwhile, shortly after Maki's death, Yuta Okkotsu started to lose his strength and he died as well, likely from the grief caused by the heartbreak of losing Maki.

Another couple that likely blossomed in Jujutsu Kaisen is that of Yuji Itadori and Ozawa. Fans know very well that Ozawa was into Yuji, and while their short romance didn't get much attention in Jujutsu Kaisen’s main story, fans did get to see them reunited in the JJK one-shot after the ending of the manga. In it, Yuji was seen back in his hometown, and he eventually ran into her. The two spent some time together, and it was officially revealed that Ozawa was still in love with him.
Since Yuji was going to be in his hometown a lot more often, it would've made sense for them to hang out more often, and eventually, get together. There is no official confirmation on this couple yet, but the way the author was building it up tells the fans that it is most likely canon.
Jujutsu Kaisen is currently one of the biggest shonen series in the world. The manga, which ended in late 2024, can be read online for free. It is available to access on Manga Plus, where this series used to be made available weekly. When it comes to the anime, there are currently two anime seasons, with fans eagerly waiting for the 3rd one. These two seasons for now can be found on Crunchyroll.
