Gojo Satoru is greatly missed in Jujutsu Kaisen, but some of the characters in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are beginning to remind fans of his presence and influence. One of them is Usami, who acts as Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu’s mentor, guiding them with a mix of skill and insight that mirrors not only Gojo’s impact on his students but also the steady and pragmatic guidance of Nanami Kento.

However, unlike Gojo and Nanami, Usami holds a position in foreign affairs, acting as interim minister. Usami is responsible for overseeing diplomatic relations, managing cross-border conflicts, and maintaining order between nations. With the arrival of Simurians in Japan, he practices extreme caution, weighing each decision to maintain peace and prevent chaos that could send Japan to the brink of disaster.

Additionally, Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu have a contract with Usami, granting him the authority to guide and support their growth by assigning different tasks. Perhaps the most important of these tasks is ensuring they can work together with the Simurians while gathering details about their strengths and weaknesses. After all, Usami knows that Japan will be on the losing end if a war ever breaks out.

There aren’t a lot of Jujutsu Kaisen characters who can use cursed speech, which makes it a rare and highly valued technique among sorcerers. Toge Inumaki is probably the most iconic Cursed Speech user, having witnessed him immobilize enemies, force them to obey commands, and even turn the fight around with just a few carefully chosen words imbued with cursed energy.

This time, in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, series creator Gege Akutami presents Usami as a new Cursed Speech user. Unlike Inumaki, Usami covers his mouth with his hand marked with the iconic cursed seal of snake eyes and fangs while using the technique. This led fans to believe that Usami could be related to the Inumaki Clan, considering the cursed speech is an inherited technique.

Currently, Usami has only used cursed speech once, giving fans just a glimpse of his strength. However, Usami was able to take down the wounded Masaki Takeda, a grade 1 curse user, with ease. This means that Usami might be a Grade 1 sorcerer, as his cursed speech did not cause any backlash against him when he forced Masaki Takeda to stop moving.

Usami Wants Coexistence Between Humans and Simurians

For now, the most important thing for Usami is peace, especially after seeing Dabura in person. He understands the importance of stability, as Dabura’s presence as a Sukuna-level threat puts the survival of both sorcerers and civilians alike in jeopardy. With the strength of the current generation of Japanese sorcerers, they would lose if forced into a direct confrontation with Dabura and the rest of the Rumelians.

Therefore, Usami has a very crucial role in maintaining peace between the two races. He needs to make sure that humans and aliens will coexist without conflict, become good neighbors, and act in harmony. Nevertheless, Usami must plan for the worst-case scenario, as a war between humans and aliens is always a looming threat. When that happens, Usami should have already located Yuji Itadori, as he could be the only one capable of standing toe-to-toe against Dabura in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
