Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo continues to receive positive reviews from Jujutsu Kaisen supporters and manga fans in general, largely due to its well-written nature. Despite the absence of popular characters such as Gojo and Sukuna, JJK Modulo continues to bring more excitement by introducing new characters, cursed techniques, and intense battles. The world-building of the manga is also impressive, as it explores previously unseen aspects of the Jujutsu world.
So far, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has released 15 chapters, each revealing intriguing details not only about Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin’s grandchildren, Yuka and Tsurugi, but also about the Simurians and the status of familiar sorcerers such as Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki. As JJK Modulo Chapter 16 nears release, many readers are asking about the series’ total chapter count, given it was announced as a short run.
Jujutsu Kaisen Sequel Has A New Character That Can Surpass Yuji Itadori
Yuji had insane potential, but these new characters from JJK Modulo might have even more.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Gets a Six-Month Run
JJK Modulo Is Just a Short Manga Series
- Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will run for half a year.
- JJK Modulo is a fixed short-term manga series.
The original Jujutsu Kaisen series centered around Yuji Itadori and the challenges he overcame as a sorcerer with a powerful curse user residing within him. Along with Gojo Satoru, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and the rest of his allies, Yuji successfully defeated the most powerful villains, from Ryomen Sukuna and Mahito to Kenjaku, bringing the main conflict of the series to a thrilling conclusion.
One year after Jujutsu Kaisen ended, Gege Akutami released Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, with Yuji Iwasaki (Cipher Academy) drawing the visuals. The first chapter was released on September 7, 2025, containing 54 pages full of intriguing lore about the powerful alien sorcerers known as Simurians, led by Maru, Cross, and the Deskunte champion, Dabura. Instead of Yuji Itadori headlining JJK Modulo, the series revolves around siblings, Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu.

Unfortunately for fans, JJK Modulo will not be a long-running series and has been announced as a fixed short-term manga. As early as now, fans should manage their expectations, as JJK Modulo won’t be around for more than six months, keeping the storyline tight and action-packed. JJK Modulo won’t last for more than 100 chapters, unless Gege Akutami changes plans.
JJK Modulo Will Have Three Volumes
JJK Modulo Set to Release Between 20 and 30 Chapters
As announced, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will only run for about half a year, releasing around three volumes in total unless the series gets axed for some reason. Since JJK Modulo started in September 2025, it is expected to release its final chapter sometime in February 2026, wrapping up Yuka and Tsurugi’s story within its planned short-term run. Three volumes of JJK Modulo may contain 20–30 chapters, which is probably enough to tell a complete, action-packed story without dragging the plot.
In retrospect, the first three volumes of the original JJK series contained a total of 25 chapters. If this pattern continues in JJK Modulo, then fans can expect the manga to reach around 25 chapters across its three volumes. JJK Modulo has 15 chapters out, and given its six-month schedule, a total of 20 to 30 chapters seems likely. Anything beyond that would be a welcome bonus for fans, considering how well-received JJK Modulo is.
For now, JJK Modulo has been consistent in releasing weekly chapters, with JJK Modulo Chapter 16 dropping on schedule, maintaining the momentum of the series. The previous chapter was all about Yuka Okkotsu summoning Mahoraga in her duel with Dabura, bringing a shocking twist to the fight.
JJK Modulo May Serve as a Prequel to a New JJK Project
The ending of Jujutsu Kaisen faced criticism from fans, mainly because it felt rushed. As a result, most of the fans were disappointed, as the series left more questions about the story and the characters than it provided answers. However, with the release of JJK Modulo, there was hope that the new chapters would provide clarity and expand on the JJK universe that was mostly set in Japan.
Fans are now enjoying JJK Modulo, and its positive reception could pave the way for a future JJK project, with Modulo laying the groundwork. After all, the universe of JJK is vast, meaning Modulo could just be the beginning of many more stories in this world.
