Hajime Kashimo is an Edo-era (approximately 400 years old) sorcerer who had signed a contract with Kenjaku to be reincarnated into the Culling Game. The battle between Kashimo and Kinji Hakari is one of the most popular battles that have ever taken place in the series, as it was a matter of pure power and endless fortune. Even after Hakari won the lottery (Jackpot) granting him unlimited cursed power and automatic Reverse Cursed Technique, Kashimo was on the verge of killing him several times with sheer strategy and lightning. He utilized the chlorine in seawater to generate poisonous gas and almost blasted off the head of Hakari with a timed discharge, but Hakari survived, and they eventually agreed to join forces against Sukuna.
The Final Encounter With The King Of Curses
When Kashimo at last confronted Sukuna, he was the sole sorcerer who could compel the King of Curses to entirely manifest himself in his form of the Heian Age. Kashimo was able to make Sukuna take him seriously by triggering Mythical Beast Amber, which momentarily distracted the weakened four-armed sorcerer with a burst of light and sound. Although he was eventually defeated by Sukuna’s “Dismantle," the encounter served as a reminder to the fans about the two strongest beings of their time who existed at the peak of power and the isolation that comes with them.
