This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga.
Jujutsu Kaisen is coming back for Season 3, and fans are thrilled for the next fights that await Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and the rest of the characters. Unfortunately, everyone’s glorious king, Gojo Satoru, is still sealed in the Prison Realm, making his return uncertain but all the more crucial to his allies. As much as fans would love to see Gojo return in action, he would have to sit around for a good portion of the next story arc.
Even so, Jujutsu Kaisen fans successfully found a new character who reminded them of Gojo Satoru in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo in many ways. Fans have turned to social media, sharing why they can’t unsee Gojo Satoru in the new character that Gege Akutami created. From his appearance to his playful personality, the parallels might be too strong for fans to ignore.
Jujutsu Kaisen 3 Modulo Sequel: Everything You Need To Know
Jujutsu Kaisen 3 Modulo is coming out this week, and fans are hyped.
Gojo Satoru Appeared in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
Gojo Satoru Was Referenced as an Extraordinary Jujutsu Sorcerer
- Gojo Satoru appears in JJK Modulo Chapter 1.
- Gojo Satoru remains dead in the JJK sequel.
Series creator Gege Akutami surprised fans with Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo being a sequel to the original series. Fans initially thought that Gege was working on a manga project with no direct ties to Jujutsu Kaisen. Still, when the first chapter dropped, it immediately confirmed the connection through bloodline reveals and familiar references that tied the spin-off directly into the established lore.
One of these references is Gojo Satoru, who fans around the world still regard as the face of the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise, making his mention in Modulo a solid reminder of his lasting impact in the Jujutsu World. Nicknamed by fans as the “glorious king,” Gojo Satoru is well known for his Six Eyes and Limitless cursed technique, making him nearly untouchable in battle and one of the strongest sorcerers the Jujutsu world has ever seen.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 1, the abductor of Tsurugi Okkotsu mentioned Gojo Satoru’s name, as well as Yuji Itadori, as two of the perfect examples of the extraordinary sorcerers who put a stop to the Culling Game decades ago. Accordingly, after their era, the power level of Jujutsu Sorcerers drastically dropped, leaving a generation of weaker sorcerers.
Fans Say Maru Is Just a Rotated Gojo Satoru in JJK Modulo
Maru Is An Alien With a Familiar Headband
One of the most intriguing characters in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is Maru. Fans know he is an alien, part of the Simurian race, who strangely possesses the same powers as Jujutsu Sorcerers in Japan. He is currently on Earth to investigate whether aliens and humans can coexist peacefully, but his presence inevitably raises questions and tension among Jujutsu Sorcerers like Tsurugi and Yuka Okkotsu.

Maru has already appeared in three chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, and fans were quick to notice how he reminds them of Gojo Satoru. Most fans see Gojo Satoru on Maru because of his headband that looks like Gojo’s iconic blindfold. If fans rotate Maru’s image, they could recognize Gojo Satoru in an instant, making it difficult to deny the resemblance.

Beyond Maru’s looks, his personality also reminds fans of Gojo Satoru. Unlike his twin brother Cross, Maru is more playful, approachable, and adorable, as shown in his interactions with Yuka and Tsurugi in missions. He also brings a positive and charming energy to the group, much like how Gojo often acts as a comic relief, lightening tense moments in the most unexpected ways.
Fans Want Gojo Satoru Back in JJK Modulo
Gojo Satoru's Return Is Not Impossible
Despite Maru’s presence in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, there’s no denying that fans still want the real Gojo Satoru back in the sequel. For fans, it would always feel incomplete without Gojo around, unleashing his monstrous abilities, cracking jokes at the worst timing, and dominating battles in ways that only Gojo could deliver.

However, manga fans are aware of Gojo Satoru’s unfortunate fate, and it seems like there’s no changing Gege Akutami’s mind about his status anytime soon. Still, if Gege brings back Gojo into the Jujutsu Kaisen world, either through reincarnation or unexpected revival, it would instantly shift the power balance. That’s not all, as Gojo's appearance in JJK Modulo would most likely break the internet once it happens.
