Over the years, Jujutsu Kaisen has become a phenomenon all over the world and is quite easily one of Weekly Shonen Jump’s biggest hit series ever. When the main manga of Jujutsu Kaisen ended in 2024, its absence was felt immediately, but not long after, a return was officially announced in Jump by the author Gege Akutami, who teamed up with the talented artist, Yuji Iwasaki. Gege and Yuji made a special return with a sequel set 68 years later after the end of the main story, titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has been incredibly well-received so far, and it wouldn't even be a stretch to say that it is one of Gege's best-written stories, if not the best. Unfortunately, JJK Modulo might already be ending soon. On Manga Plus, the recent battles of Dabura vs Yuka and Tsurugi vs Maru were titled as the “Final Battles”. In other words, it seems the series is approaching its end. Modulo might have 5-6 chapters left, at most.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Manga Is Ending Soon
Gege Akutami Planned A Three-Volume Release
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has proven to be an absolutely incredible sequel series so far, with quality that even surpasses the original manga in many ways. Modulo continues the beloved story that Gege created, only 68 years into the future. When JJK Modulo was first announced, it was made clear immediately that it would be a short serialization. According to Gege Akutami, the manga was planned to be around 3 volumes long. With the series now over 20 chapters long, it is clearly approaching its end.
The biggest battles of the series have started to wrap up. Maru’s fight against Tsurugi is already over, and the biggest battle of the story, Yuka Okkotsu vs Dabura, is on the cusp of wrapping up as well. These two battles were marked as “Final Battles” by officials at Manga Plus, which means now that they're wrapping up, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is ending.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Could Have 5-7 Chapters Left
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo doesn’t have an end date yet, but it’s clear the series doesn’t have that much left before it officially concludes. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is already in its final stretch, and could perhaps go on for two more months at most. In other words, Modulo could have anywhere between 5 and 8 chapters left. The exact end date should become amply clear soon enough.
With the final battles now ending, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo only needs to deliver a conclusion to the big plotlines. The only thing left for Gege to do is to end the conflict between humans and Simurians and establish harmony. Modulo’s conclusion could definitely be a tragic one, but at the same time, it'll fix many of JJK's issues.
Modulo Could Be The Last Manga Content For The Jujutsu Kaisen Franchise
The original Jujutsu Kaisen series ended in 2024. Modulo, on the other hand, is going to conclude in a month or two. Naturally, questions about a further continuation will be asked of Gege, but at the moment, it appears this is it for the legendary franchise established by this seasoned mangaka. Unless Gege Akutami changes his mind, JJK Modulo will drop the curtain on the franchise forever, making it the end of a beautiful era for the fans of the series.
Gege Could Make A Sequel Set Between Jujutsu Kaisen and Modulo
While JJK is sure to end soon enough, the world still holds a lot of potential. Gege Akutami could easily continue writing more JJK content if he wanted to. Between Jujutsu Kaisen and Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, there’s a 68-year timeskip. In those 68 years, a lot has transpired that fans would love to learn more about. Gege definitely has an opportunity for a fascinating story, following the original cast, to write during that time. But, unfortunately, no such plans have been confirmed yet. As things stand, Gege is looking to part ways with his beloved story forever.
