This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo officially brings back Mahoraga onto the battlefield courtesy of Yuka Okkotsu, much to the surprise of the fans. Mahoraga is Yuka’s ultimate trump card against Dabura in an attempt to defend the world from further alien invasion. As JJK fans know, only users of the Ten Shadows technique can summon Mahoraga, so Yuka wielding it raises questions about whether she has tamed the shikigami or not.
Only Ryomen Sukuna tamed Mahoraga in the history of Jujutsu Kaisen. No other sorcerer, not even Megumi Fushiguro, has ever proven capable of fully controlling it. Most of them failed to survive and complete the ritual, leaving Sukuna as the only exception. However, if Yuka Okkotsu has already tamed Mahoraga, she will be the first sorcerer of Zenin and Okkotsu blood to control the Divine General.

Yuji is strong, but so is this newly rising sorcerer in JJK Modulo.
Yuka Okkotsu Summons Mahoraga in JJK Modulo
Yuka Okkotsu Is a Ten Shadows Technique User
- Mahoraga vs. Dabura begins.
- Yuka Okkotsu can use the Ten Shadows Technique.
Just like an atomic bomb, Yuka Okkotsu drops from the skies and makes an explosive entrance by summoning Mahoraga, the most uncontrollable shikigami of the Ten Shadows Technique, against Dabura. Her entrance is by far the most shocking moment in JJK Modulo, as no one truly anticipated Yuka using the Ten Shadows Technique, let alone summoning Mahoraga out of nowhere.
Before appearing in JJK Modulo, the Divine General Mahoraga was last seen in the original series, controlled by Ryomen Sukuna and exploited against the likes of Yorozu and Gojo Satoru. Mahoraga is an absolute force of nature, and taking him down requires overwhelming strength and combat intelligence, which Gojo and Sukuna used to overcome his adaptation ability.
With Mahoraga’s appearance, it’s clear that Yuka Okkotsu can use the Ten Shadows Technique. However, JJK Modulo has yet to reveal whether Yuka inherited the technique due to her Zenin blood or copied it, much like how Yuta Okkotsu can replicate cursed techniques with his Copy ability. Regardless, the fact that Yuka can summon Mahoraga, who seemingly looks stronger than ever, suggests that her power level has significantly increased. Most likely, Yuka made a Binding Vow, which Tsurugi mentioned in JJK Modulo Chapter 14.
Did Yuka Tame Mahoraga Off-Screen?
Yuka Okkotsu Avoids Direct Contact With Mahoraga
The events of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 15 suggest that Yuka Okkotsu has yet to tame the Divine General Mahoraga. Most likely, she only summoned Mahoraga just to include Dabura in the ritual in a desperate attempt to defeat him in the duel. Looking back, Megumi also used this kind of suicidal strategy against Haruta Shigemo in JJK Season 2, where he almost died in the process.
In addition, Yuka was quick in hiding herself in the shadows after summoning Mahoraga, almost as if she was avoiding the risks of summoning a shikigami she hadn’t fully tamed. As fans know, Mahoraga attacks those who are involved in the summoning ritual without hesitation, so Yuka going into hiding is a perfect strategy to shift the shikigami’s entire attention to Dabura.
With this treasure, I summon the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga.—Yuka Okkotsu
However, with this setup, Yuka has no chance of taming Mahoraga at all. While taming Mahoraga isn’t exactly Yuka’s goal in starting the ritual, her survival still depends on staying out of its direct path by hiding in the shadows unless Dabura pulls off the unexpected and defeats the Divine General. So far, there’s no clear winner between Dabura and Mahoraga, so Yuka remains safe now.
Yuka Okkotsu Is Dying
While Yuka Okkotsu surprised fans with the Ten Shadows Technique, her health is quickly declining due to her brain tumor. Yuka is clearly at the end of her illness, having shown signs of her condition worsening, from extreme weakness to near-blindness, making her heroic sacrifice more painful to watch. Unfortunately, no cure has been found, leaving Yuka with no choice but to make every action count, knowing that time is running out.
If I get to be reborn, I’d like to be the little sister again.—Yuka Okkotsu
Even Yuka’s brother, Tsurugi, admitted that his sister is facing her final days, so he is more than determined to let her enjoy her final moments in peace instead of sacrificing her life in the duel with Dabura. However, it might be too late for Tsurugi to stop Yuka, as the latter has already decided to risk everything by unleashing Mahoraga and facing Dabura.
