Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 233 dropped earlier today and fans could, once again, see the fight between Gojo and Sukuna continue. Quite a lot of the fans feared that the fight was over in the previous chapter when Mahoraga managed to slice Gojo's chest. Thankfully, the strongest sorcerer of the current era is much stronger than that and it would take something special to truly defeat him.
In this week's chapter, fans got to see Gojo fight to the fullest and prepare countermeasures against Sukuna. This incredible battle looks like it is still going to rage on for a while and fans can only sit back and enjoy as Gojo tries his best to win and end the ordeal once and for all.
Gojo Vs Mahoraga
As expected, a big portion of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 233 focused on the fight between Gojo and Mahoraga. In the previous chapter, the adaptation process of Mahoraga was successfully completed and now, he can easily bypass Gojo's Infinity. That is precisely why he was able to injure Gojo in the previous chapter and this week's chapter made it quite clear that Satoru is now on the back foot and has to fight carefully since Infinity will not protect him anymore. The fight would certainly have been over had Gojo truly lost the ability to heal.
While a lot of the fans assumed that Gojo could no longer use Reverse Cursed Technique, that proved to be incorrect as, in this week's chapter, Gojo certainly did make use of the Reverse Cursed Technique to heal his body once again. That said, the effect of the technique is not the same as it once was. This time around, the process of reversing the damage done to him is much slower, meaning that Gojo is slowly hitting his limits as well.
In fact, this week's chapter made it quite clear that, for the very first time in a long time, the thought of losing crossed Gojo's mind. This just goes to show that Sukuna is no normal enemy and that he is truly worthy of his title of King of Curses. While Gojo certainly did think about losing in this chapter, at the very same time, the thought also gave him pleasure. This is because Gojo has been the strongest for way too long and there is a certain loneliness that comes with being at the top alone.
That loneliness is now being satisfied by none other than Sukuna and, in a weird way, Gojo is absolutely relishing this challenge that is being posed to him. Gojo was successfully able to reverse all damage done to his body in the fight against Sukuna, although gradually. Fans could also see him engage in hand-to-hand combat with Mahoraga, which, once again, goes to show that he still has fight left in him.
Sukuna On The Offensive
JJK chapter 233 took a very interesting turn as, for the first time in quite a while, Sukuna started being on the offensive. Fans saw him be at the receiving end of quite a lot of Gojo's powerful techniques so that he could eventually acclimatize to his Infinity. Now that the process has been completed, Sukuna is free to unleash powerful techniques himself. For instance, fans could see him make full use of the 10 Shadows Technique in this week's chapter and he was no longer just making use of one shikigami. To Gojo, it appeared as if Sukuna was using the shikigami to defend Mahoraga and making openings for it to attack, however, the reality was far from that. Sukuna certainly wasn't just on the defensive. Instead, he was creating opportunities for himself to land powerful blows on Gojo as well, which further complicates this battle.
Much to the surprise of fans, Sukuna was able to tap into the power of piercing blood, an ability that Choso is very well familiar with, or so it seemed. However, in reality, this is likely Max Elephant's water sprayed at an incredibly high pressure, by using Choso's technique as a base. While Gojo was fighting against Mahoraga, this ability hit him from the side, dealing a degree of damage and, with that, Gojo immediately realized that this battle was no longer one-on-one. Instead, it was a two-on-one, with him fighting against both Sukuna and Mahoraga at the same time.
A 3 On 1 Battle
JJK chapter 233 saw Gojo quickly jump on the defensive once the odds started turning against him. In a 2 on 1 battle, Gojo had to play it smart and not make even a single misstep as that could end up costing him his life. With both Sukuna and Mahoraga on the offensive against him at the same time, the odds of Gojo winning this fight were already getting slimmer, however, they got even worse when Sukuna tapped into yet another power. This time, he made use of Totality and Nue and used a fusion technique to combine their powers, and ended up creating a fusion beast called Agito.
Quite clearly, the battle turned into a 3 on 1 fight and Gojo is now in deep trouble. With all three on the offensive at the same time, it is going to be extremely hard for Gojo to win from here on but if he somehow manages to turn the tides in his favor once again, then he would certainly solidify himself as the greatest of all time. Fans already know that this fight has been against Gojo from the very beginning, given that Sukuna was using Megumi's body as a vessel. To make things worse, he now has two powerful shikigami to aid him and things could get even worse for Gojo moving forward. The only positive he can take at the moment is that it will take time for Mahoraga to adapt to "Red" and that means he can possibly create openings if he's smart about it.
Gojo's Last Resort
Towards the end of JJK chapter 233, fans saw Gojo engage in a 3 vs 1 fight against Sukuna, Mahoraga, and Agito. While the two powerful shikigami attacked him head-on, Sukuna used openings to launch powerful blows on him and injure him gravely. Thankfully, Gojo proved to be nimble enough to avoid the vast majority of their attacks and continue fighting. Right now, his only weapon in battle is Red and he is doing his best to make effective use of it. Gojo was seen firing a powerful Red at Mahoraga and it certainly did do damage, however, barely. Nonetheless, it was enough to tell Gojo that the adaptation process of Mahoraga is gradual and not a binary 0 to 100. This means that Gojo would simply be wasting his time using small attacks and his only way to take out Mahoraga would be to use a powerful technique capable of taking it out in one shot.
Now, Gojo is going to resort to his strongest technique and he wants to use Unlimited Hollow to end this once and for all. It is a big risk that he's taking, given that this is a 3 vs 1 fight, however, it is one that Gojo simply has to take, otherwise, he will have lost this battle for good. He has no other choice but to get the shikigami out of the way and then focus on Sukuna. Curiously, fans are wondering if what Gojo is about to use is the old Hollow Technique or if it is something completely new. It is entirely possible for this technique to be something that fans have never seen before, given that Gojo's back is against the wall and the last time that happened, he ended up creating the Hollow Technique in the first place. This time, perhaps, Gojo will end up creating something entirely new and much more powerful than anything that fans have seen before. Only the next chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen can give fans the answer.
